Description

Healthy yeast need plenty of oxygen to grow. Aerating your wort before pitching your yeast will give it just the boost it needs!

Use this 2 micron oxygen / carb stone with an oxygen source or aeration pump. The barb is 1/4" OD. (Note: if you are using an aeration pump, we recommend a "deep water" type for aquariums, to ensure teh pump is strong enough to force the air through the stone and into the wort)

Specifications
  • AISI 316L Stainless Steel
  • Stone is 1/2"" diameter and 1" in length.
  • 1/4" OD barb
  • 1 7/8" Overall length

will 3/16" tubing fit on this diffusion stone?
Dick Sheremeta on Aug 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Richard
3/16 ID tubing will fit on this stone as long as the tubing is not rigid. Silicone, tygon, norprene and vinyl tubing fits but I think you would have a hard time fitting 3/16 ID teflon tubing on it because the tubing is rigid.
I hope this helps.

Great diffusion Stone
This is a great and affordable product. use this with a small oxygen cyl from Home Depot or Lowes. Works great for aerating your wort before pitching the yeast.

A must in homebrewing..
I do prefer my SS 1/4" tubing that has a stone on the end. It is easier to use and I sanitize it in the oven.

affordable and effective
Stones were always pricey when i saw them in homebrew shops. This one was fairly inexpensive so was an easy purchase. Produces lots of tiny bubbles, helps with fermentation and even though i don;t use it for carbonation, i like that it had a dual purpose.

A must have addition to your brewing equipment
This really helped me take my brewing to the next level. I used to just shake the carboy, but now I attach the brew diffusion stone to an aquarium pump and let it run for about half an hour. On high gravity beers it will tend to foam a bit, so keep an eye on it. Next step is to attach it to an O2 tank.
