Description

For oxygenating wort or for purging wine with nitrogen or argon. 26" long 3/8" OD stainless tubing with .5 micron sintered stainless steel stone attached. Attach 3/8" ID tubing (D1706). Look at KEG593 if you wish to use an areation pump to inject oxygen (2 micron stone has less restriction.)

Sanitizing your Diffusion Stone:

To properly sanitize your stones, we recommend you run it in a sanitized solution for 5 minutes. If the stone becomes clogged we recommend boiling the stone for 1-3 minutes to help break down anything within it.

If boiling is not an option, for whatever reason, we recommend the next best, soaking in Star San. Star San will remove a majority of surface contamination/bacteria.

Please note that you do not want to touch the stainless stone portion with your hands. The oils on your fingers can actually clog the small pores in the stone.

Overall Length 26 7/8"
OD of wand 3/8"
OD of stone 1/2"

Great Tool!
I use this on any batch I use liquid yeast. 1ppm for 1 minute with a regulator and O2 tank. Works great and is easy to clean in boiling water.

Great Tool
I say this with conflicted reservations. I haven't had a problem with the unit. The only PITA was finding a way to adapt it down to the O2 regulator. I'd think that MB would supply a fitting to get the unit to match up with the tubing used to attach to their regulator.

Love this model vs. plastic hose
This model is so much easier to clean and sanitize vs a plastic hose / barbed stone combo.

I also don't have to worry about the stone detaching from the hose during oxygenation.

great tool
i was use a simple hose and O2 stone attached. then i received this and was able to apply the O2 to the bottom of the 6 gl vessel better. highly recommend this item for the Oxygen application.

Convient but hard to clean
This wand allows us to keep the conical lid on and aerate through our 3" tri-clamp fitting. However having the stone attached to the wand it makes it difficult to clean.

Great Tool
Getting oxygen into you beer is critical to helthy yeast. This difusing stone lets you get the O2 right to the bottom of the fermenter. Cleanning is critical. I boil the stone to get all the wort out of it.

Works great with some work
Like the first reviewer, this wand broke at the joint within a couple uses. I managed to epoxy the stone back onto the wand without clogging anything, and it has been working like a champ for the last 20-25 batches. I don't know if they connected with Elmer's glue or what, but it was a weak joint. I also had to come up with an adaptor to fit standard tubing from my O2 regulator. No big deal, but a slight PITA. Overall, I am happy with it and it does a great job with some mods (and keeping it clean!).

Broken 2 within 3 uses
The stones are glued to the wand and within a few uses the stone pops off making them worthless. Not sure if its the use that breaks down the glue or just it tapping on carboys that breaks the glue, but either way, I've wasted $30.

On top of that, the tubing you need to fit over the wand is way bigger than what you need for an O2 regulator so you have to make your own adaptor which is a drag.
