First brew on GF
Received my GF a couple of weeks ago and just now brewed my first batch (delayed due to remodel project). First, setting up the GF was simple - the manual is straightforward. Fit and finish was very good. My GF came with the control panel already set to read in fahrenheit so I didn't have make that change. Brew day: very smooth. One "issue" I had was the lack of evaporation rate! I lost less than 1/2 gallon of wort in a 60 minute boil - caused me to miss OG but that's OK. I could have boiled longer but that would have put off my hops additions. No biggie - adjustments made. The boil was perfectly fine - not rolling but very vigorous. My first brew day went very smoothly. The GF is very quiet - hums like a refrigerator compressor. I couldn't quite get the wort down to pitching temp because my tap water is already 66 degrees - but that's not a big problem. Overall, I'm very pleased with the GF and very glad I took the leap with it. Lastly, I opted not to purchase the Connect version - I may add that later but for now I'm happy to go "old school" and use my kitchen timer.

Amazing ... Just amazing
I have been homebrewing for nearly 10 years. In that time I have owned other, more expensive brew sculptures. After deciding that brewing in my garage in -20 degree weather was not fun, I looked into acquiring this setup so that I could brew inside on cold days. After the second batch was brewed on this setup, I sold my other brew equipment. Here are the particulars of why this setup will make your brewdays amazing:
The Grainfather all-in-one system is so well engineered. Brewing in place from start to finish makes brewing so much less hectic.
The pump allows the Brewer to vorloff, leading to incredibly clear beer because you're constantly recirculating the wort through the grain bed, which acts as a natural filter. The pump also allows for the use of a counterflow chiller (included), which cuts down on brew time and minimizes risk of contamination.
The temperature control unit is amazing. There is no risk of missing your temps. Again, this makes brewing far less stressful.
The system can handle huge grain bills for those DIPAs or Barley Wines.
The electric heating element is well engineered. I brew on a wooden floor in my kitchen without any risk of burning the floor.
The Grainfather's team is passionate about brewing and it shows. Their YouTube videos are very well done. They walk you through setup, brewing, cleaning, and even have FAQ videos. Their instructions include everything from their recommended water volume formulas to tips and tricks.

I have never felt this passionate about a product. It's made my brew days fun and laid back. Buy this.
