Description

8-10% AA - Adequate in temperate climates but has difficulty growing when under heat stress.  Susceptible to downy mildew.

Traditional German bittering hop with a minty aroma. It is the only hop in Anchor Steam beer, where it is used for both bittering and flavor/aroma.

Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.

Shipping Restrictions:

Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

Shipping Limitation: This item does not qualify for free shipping.

2nd Year: And we're off...
First year (2014), started off very slow then grew about 4 feet and completely stopped. Planted in large pots on our deck with ample sunlight and consistent watering. This year, they are vigorously growing with 5 to 10 chutes of each of the 4 roots I purchased = super psyched. My wife is a horticulturist and consoled me (wiped my tears away when they stopped growing) saying they just need a year to get going = it's science; highly recommend and do not get rid of if the first year is a no-go.

Fine
I'm sure the Rhizome is fine, but tried to grow in Phoenix, AZ. I have tried multiple times, but have given up.

Looks healthy?
Good size chunk, arrived with what looks like white mold on it? We'll see if it sprouts...
