are the shafts supported by ball bearings or bushings?
Ethan Verburg on Sep 29, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Bushings
I just received my 2 roller mill. Is only one roller supposed to move when you turn the handle?
Adrian Northam on Mar 31, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Once the grain starts going through both rollers will turn. If it were a three roller two rollers would turn. If you have a drill take the handle off and chuck the drill onto it. Works much better and faster.

This thing is absolute trash!!!

Very Disappointed
This is not my first mill but I wanted a smaller more portable one so I waited until this was on sale and bought it. This thing is bad enough that it makes me not want to brew...I noticed when I got it that the settings were far enough off from either side that you could see it by eye and the drive roller was not concentric. I figured I could set it with a gauge and not worry about it. Finally got around to using it today and I got languaged by my kids. A lot. I absolutely can not get this thing to feed unless I open it so far that 1/2 my grain isn't crushed. If I close it far enough to crush grain, it won't feed unless I bang it up and down on my bucket. Took me 20 minutes to get 10 lbs of grain crushed. Now I'm a few days out of the return window....I feel like this thing is a total waste of money.

A little disappointed in the quality
The first thing I noticed out of the shipping container is that the knurled portion of the driven roller is not concentric with the end shafts. When I spin the driven roller, the roll end nearest the drive shaft moves from .026" gap to a .016" gap (.010" variation, or TIR for the machinists out there). I know this is a fairly low cost mill, but I would have expected a little better quality than this.
Just received the mill today, so I have not use it yet. Not sure how this defect will impact performance.

First time using the grain mill was great. Easy to set up and crushed the grain as expected! Better results than buying crushed grain from supplier

Very happy
I've milled up about 50lbs of grains with this so far and it's worked perfectly. it's very easy to adjust and works great with a drill.

its a working mill
my first run was not that good, it would not feed the grain to the rollers, my advice is once you get it assembled push the flats next to the rollors as far as you can to widen the gap, mine are just missing the rollers
after doing this i have done a few more batches and had no issues at all, i would recommend after bending the flaps by the rollors

Works really well
While the grain doesn't all feed down in it's own (I have to move it around for it to fall into the rollers on occasion), overall this mills the grain well and improved the effeciency of my mash. No reason for complaint at this price point.

heavy duty metal base
I choose this mill over the others because I like the metal base that it has rather than the wood or composite material that others have. The base is a nice solid gage metal. I have only milled up about 10 lbs so far and it seems to work well. If you can catch it on sale its a little less expensive than some of the others also.

Great first mill, especially for the price
Pros:
Great first mill, especially for the price. Love the adjustable feature with easy gap markings since I use various thickness of grain combinations. I adjust for varying grain thickness. For example, I crush fat Maris Otter and thin wheat differently but just crack the husk without destroying too many of the hulls.
Cons:
1) The settings often drift due to screw tensioning loosening so you will need to look at the dials every 5 minutes or so. Or if you ever want to set just one specific gap, semi-perm blue locktight on adjustment screw will work.
2) Hopper edges are super sharp and the hopper rubber gasket protection falls off and stays off, so you will want to find a way to glue the gasket on.
Worth somewhat more than the price.
