Description

The most robust controller we offer and a perfect compliment to the technically savvy brewer.  This is the only controller we offer that allows for up to 12 steps. This can be incredibly handy for raising fermentation temperatures for diacetyl rests and also for cold crashing. You can also use it with electric mashtuns and pumps to do step mashes.  The high and low temp alarms are also handy, as is the ability to use with a distillation column.

If there is a power loss, does this device resume timing where it left off or does the timing start over again?

BEST ANSWER: This device is made to resume the setting which was last used in the event of power failure.

Useless for long ferm profiles
Does not correctly switch units from Celsius to Fahrenheit sometimes. Will be acting in Fahrenheit but displaying Celsiua. Can only be fixed by setting device back to C, then back to F, and then all set points and alarm values get converted from their value that was supposed to be F but was stored in memory as C. Super confusing and annoying to fix.

In the 12-step program mode, all steps must be same time duration. This makes it useless for programming a long ferm profile with holds and ramps of different durations, such as a lager ferm with primary ferm, diacetyl rest, crash, and lager steps.

Added 1 star because it holds a single set point without issue. But so does an Inkbird for less than half the price.

Nice performance
Very good controlling temperature in ferm chamber, more than 2 years of constant use with no issues, will buy another one for kezzer.

Good controller for keezer or fermentation.
Considering it's hard to find well put together prebuilt STC1000 controllers at the moment, this is a pretty good temperature controller. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I had to calibrate the temperature controller, as it was reading about 2 degrees off. I have used for both a keezer and fermentation chamber. Looks better than an Inkbird in my opinion so I like using it for the keezer in my family room.

Easy to operate
Works fine. I'm currently using it to shut off a glycol chiller pump once the water being chilled hits 40 degrees. Then I'll use it to keep the fermentation temperature at 62 degrees.
