Description

The MiniMesh is perfect for adding dry hops to your beer! Keep your dry hopping on a precise schedule by adding them to this mesh sleeve inside the PET Carboy, then easily pull them out after the desired contact time.

This mesh sleeve is custom made for the Vintage Shop PET Carboy. The plastic ring sits inside the neck of the fermenter with room for a #10 stopper to be inserted for an airtight seal. The ring actually holds onto the neck of the carboy so there's no risk of the mesh sleeve falling into the carboy.

Made from food grade materials, the #50 mesh will not affect the flavor of the beer or wine, and is temperature rated to 122°F. Designed for multiple uses, the MiniMesh can be cleaned in the dishwasher and sanitized with the sanitizer of your choice.

For FerMonster users, the MiniMesh and MonsterMesh can be used simultaneously. The MonsterMesh will sit on the neck of the carboy, and the MiniMesh can be inserted through the stopper hole in the lid. This way you can have two different infusions starting or stopping at different times.

Will this fit a 5 gallon glass carboy, if not, do you carry one that will fit?
Joseph Mesarick on Aug 3, 2022
BEST ANSWER: It will. Just be mindful that if you overstuff the mesh with hops, it will be incredibly difficult to extract and IMO add an unintended resin-ness to the brew. This can happen when you pull the bag out of the wort, the weight of the hops deform the mesh into a big ball, which does not happen when using a long metal tube to dry hop. Good luck!
What is the capacity for hop pellets?
Lon Robinson on Aug 12, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Depends on size of fermenter. If you have 5-5.5 gal batch in 7.5 gal fermenter, it will accommodate at least 8 oz of hop pellets. If using in 6 gal. fermenter could probably get close to a pound in the bag and still have all pellets submerged. I tend to use a few marbles in bag to keep it submerged.

Great for Dry Hopping
These are great for dry hopping. I use twelve-liter Better Bottles, and these strainers fit snugly in the neck, allowing you to attach a #10 stopper or breathable bung. You do have to force the stopper or bung down, and it will protrude a bit from the carboy, but it will form an airtight seal. After you’re done dry hopping it’s easy to pull out the strainer and clean it. Unlike hop bags, this is narrow enough that it won’t get stuck in the neck of the carboy.
