Real smoked bacon and maple syrup cooked in small batches of Artisanal Belgian Style Candi Syrup. Just stop reading for a second and let your brain catch up. Yes your mouth probably did start to water and you just realized you are in fact a little hungry right now.

MoreBeer! does not mess around.  When we connected with Cascade Candi Syrup over a year ago to co-develop our dream product, we instantly passed over the idea of bacon flavor. First of all, that would be gross and second we knew this syrup had a second calling at the breakfast table come Saturday morning. Six product generations later we now know that not only will you delight your friends with wild beer creations that we cannot even fathom, you will want this authentic bacon syrup right on your waffles.

We did not design it to overwhlem your beers with bacon, maple or smoke, rather it will add layers of complexity that will be appropriate in many different styles. Should you put this in your next Porter, Brown Ale, Stout or Barleywine? Yes. Should you try this on waffles, pancakes, in a stir fry, on ice-cream, or directly by the heaping spoonful into your salivating mouth? Absolutely.

Very Happy With the Flavor
Reading most of the reviews, people complain about not getting the bacon flavor. I found right the opposite and the smoky bacon flavor really shines through in the porter I used this syrup. I was concerned if I would get the flavor profile, so I added this to a 5 gallon batch in secondary. I gave it a week in secondary before kegging and after a couple weeks conditioning, I'm very pleased with the taste. I do pickup the smokey bacon flavor up front and forward, its the maple that I have a hard time pulling out from the other flavors. If you're looking for bacon flavor, this is worth giving a shot. Much easier than dealing with real bacon and I feel the taste profile is better too.

Good, but not much bacon flavor
I used this into the primary fermentor. My beer is sitting in secondary now, there is a good maple flavor, but I can't taste the bacon. If I were to use again, I would had a handful of smoked malt to the recipe to help bring out the smokey character

I'd Try Again
I really got the maple and smoke from this, but I didn't get the bacon. I wish I had read the directions on the manufacture's website instead of MoreBeer, for when to add. I added two jars to a 10gal brown ale at flame out, and I'm thinking this is why I'm not getting the bacon flavor. The manufacture's website says to add during fermentation. I'll have to try that next time.

Great flavors but bacon flavor lacks (add extract if you want more of it)

Great stuff
Used this in an american brown. 1lb at FO and another 1/2lb near the end of fermentation. Came out perfect. Maple is in check, little bit of smoke late palate. I didn't really pick up the bacon but other people said they could taste it. At any rate the bacon is subtle. Will buy again.

I dont think I used enough
I added a full one of these to morebeers B3 stout and I cant taste it. I added it when I keeged The beer and tried it 2 weeks later. I will also wait a little longer and comment again.

Maybe this just isn't my style but a little of this will go a long way. Used a jar in a 10gal batch and the maple was very overpowering. Taste and smells great, but beware the flavor comes out very strong.

I just used this with the all-grain porter kit and kegged it yesterday. The taste is subtle but nice. I am looking forward to seeing what it is like cold and carbonated.

maple bacon
I added this to my own recipe that i dreamed up it is a oatmeal stout my only thought was i should have added two jars. The beer is in its secondary for the second week.I hope i get a hint of bacon but this syrup was easy to work with. I will probably use again but i will probably double up on the jars.

Made an American Brown Ale and added 1/2lb of this syrup during 10min mark of boil. Then I added the other 1/2lb directly into primary after initial fermentation bubbling died. Fermentation came back for about a day. Sent it to the keg 1 week later. Tastes delicious! It's subtle but there, and works great with American Brown Ale. You get a slight sweet/savory breakfast type flavor. I will be calling this brew "Breakfast for Dinner" !
