Can anyone confirm if this model has ball bearings or if it has bronze bushings?
Joel Donmeyer on Dec 26, 2019
Does anyone have directions on setting the roller gaps?
Wayne Halozan on Jan 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Ok, before you assemble the hopper on the mill, and with the side plate not yet installed, slip a feeler gauge or a standard credit card (.030") between the ONLY adjustable rollers( the two bottom rollers), loosen the screws and and roll the knurled nuts both in the same direction, closer or looser, and when you are happy with the gap, simply tighten the nuts, assemble the side plates, and attach the hopper...that's it! Enjoy! Best mill I have ever had, wish I had popped for the extra dough for this one in the beginning!...
Can grain be finely crushed with this mill, like flour?
Stefan Mueller on Jan 8, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The mill claims to go to zero in gap, but I've tried crushing at .032" and its slipped out multiple times. I think if you tried to crush flower I would run it multiple times.
What are the vertical dimensions with the hopper attached?
Aaron Nicodemi on Mar 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Mounted to a 1/2 inch base, vertical height is 13 1/2” with the standard hopper and 23” with the extended hopper.
What size drill is needed?
Lenny N on Jan 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: 1/2 " chuck - variable or low speed is recommended. Anchor down this mill very well when motorizing - the 1/2" drill has a lot of torque and could rotate the whole mill (rather than the rollers). Before motorizing, hand crank it empty to make sure the rollers are aligned then add a few oz. of grain to check it again. Then use the drill.
What size bolts are required to mount the mill to the base?
Gerald Kroupa on Feb 25, 2021
BEST ANSWER: My unit is about 18 months old and assuming they haven't changed, they are metric M6 x 1.0 bolts. The 1.0 is the pitch not the length. The length will depend on how thick of a board you use. The threads are about 3/4 inch deep into the mill. My bolts were 30mm with a 1/2 inch board and I had to use a large nut as a spacer to keep the bolt from bottoming out before it was tight, but it was what I already had at available. Drilling the 4 holes in the exact place is made easier if you do a rubbing on the mill and use it as a template to drill the holes. Good luck.
Could someone be kind enough to check the roller dimensions on this mill? (I have seen both 5" x 1.25" and 6" x 1.5") Thanks
Mike Goetzke on Jan 20, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The rollers are 1.375" x 6" long. The thread count for the bolts are not widely available and I have not been able to locate bolts to fasten the rig to a base. I would not buy this again.
I currently have the motorized MaltMuncher 2-roller model, powered by a motor (item #MILL705). If I ever want to swap out the 2-roller mill for this 3-roller version, is it a direct replacement? Specifically, is the axle/shaft of the 3-roller version at the same height and extends the same length away from the body as the 2-roller?
Daniel Cook on Oct 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Daniel - I would guess the driver roller is the same height, but wouldn't be offset like the two roller.

Poor crush
I bought this ‘Keg Lamd Malt Muncher 3 roller mill because I am going with BIAB and wanted to be able to do a finer crush. The dial indicates a 0.032 setting, but this wasn’t really matching up with the feeler gauge and the dials didn’t match up with each other. Tried 0.025 but it locked up. Tried 0.035 and it still locked up. Worked around 0.040, but my efficiency ended up around 68%.
No instructions came with this, so really frustrating finding adequate UTube videos to figure out how adjust the rollers of this mill.
Returning this and going for a Monster Mill.

Forever Changed My Brew Day
Milling my own grain has completely changed the way I brew. Having the ability buy bulk grain and brew anytime I want has elevated my game. This mill is easy to assemble and easy to adjust for different mill specs. Hooks right onto my 20v dwault cordless drill for super easy milling.

Mill is fine. Adjusting is a pain
I didn't realize you cannot make gap adjustments with the hopper on. I realize I could make a few settings and mark the adjustment wheels. If setting the gap is something you think you will do depending on your grain bill, you may want to go with a good 2 roller mill.

Solid product, bad packaging.
After figuring out how to use it, it's great! Product didn't come with directions. Also it didn't come with extra screw's to allow me to mount it to a more stabile surface.

Construction seems to be good but for $170 I expected more attention to detail on the packaging.
