Description
This is a great lid to have on hand when you want to add a stopper with an airlock to your 6 gallon bucket. It has a 1 1/4" pre-drilled hole which fits a #7 or universal stopper. Drilled in-house at MoreBeer!
 
Note: This lid is not an air tight seal. There is no gasket in this lid.

BEST ANSWER: Hi Pedro - this specific type of lid is not compatible with a gasket.

BEST ANSWER: Hi Tim - That is correct, the lid is designed to accept a #7 stopper and the thermowell is equipped with a #7 stopper.

I did not read the fine print. The lid has NO gasket, so the fit is not airtight.

Does not seal.
I should have read the reviews before buying. As others have said, these lids are known not to seal. Why MoreBeer would choose to sell a lid with a hole for an airlock that they know doesn’t seal is beyond me. Don’t be a chump like me, choose a better product.

Read the fine print
I some how missed the part of having to buy a bubbler and adapter plug separate from the lid.
Other than that this product seems to fit the bill.
Since I am currently with out the addon's I haven't used this part of my fermenter as yet.

Fits nicely, but not being airtight is a big deal...need to find a gasket to get a better seal. Not many bubbles in air lock because it's escaping out the lid!

Read the fine print
The lid doesn't hold air. Never mind the hole for a fermentation lock. Cover up that hole and rename the product 'Dust Cover' to be honest.

Why sell a lid with a hole for a stopper if the lid does not seal? I wish I read the reviews first. But come on - !

Hello David, we're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction. We note that the lid does not come with a gasket in the product description. We recommend these buckets for primary fermentation as the amount of pressure produced during fermentation is thought to prevent oxygen from going in.

Leaks - No gasket/o-ring available?
Disappointed as I wanted to have another beer going along side my main primary which is purpose built, so I bought a 6gal bucket from MoreBeer and this lid. But, after seeing no activity on the airlock but plenty of krausen, I realized it does not seal well. Would rather have a lid with a good seal and just drill my own hole.
