For the serious home winemaker or a very small winery, this machine represents an amazing value. It is gentle, easy to load, and pumps the grapes into your awaiting fermenter, eliminating the need for a separate must pump.

Why No Crushing Rollers?
Because you don't need them. Here is how it works. You put fruit in the top bin and the screw feed moves the fruit to the left where it drops down into the destemming chamber. The fruit is destemmed and grapes drop down through the grate to the next level. Stems are ejected out the end of the destemming chamber and onto a tarp on the ground. After the fruit drops through the destemming chamber it falls into a bin at the bottom of the machine that has a screw feed. The screw feed pushes the grapes to the right where they are pushed into a circular chamber. In the circular chamber, a paddle wheel, pushes grapes back out the exit tube, through a 2.5" hose, you attach, and into the awaiting fermenters.

Why this machine is so popular in Italy
Because they know you don't need rollers on this type of machine. The action of the two screws, the destemming chamber and the paddle wheel crack the berries.

More on the Built-in Must Pump
The built in paddle-wheel style must pump can push fruit an average of 12' high with a 10' horizontal run OR up to 4' high with a 40' horizontal run. These are estimates only: actual results will vary on factors such as the total load on the machine and the viscosity of the must in the transfer tube. It can only be used at processing time and cannot be used later in the winemaking process.

A Great Value!
We recommend this machine for small wineries or larger home producers who do not wish to make the considerable jump to truly commercial quality equipment. You can make very, very good wine with this machine and we often tell small winery owners that the money saved can be used more effectively in other ways to make great wine.

On board must pump looks like a winer
Edee Belanger on Mar 7, 2020
I used this for the first time last weekend and it works great. I've yet to figure out how the 'standing rod' is supposed to be used. As it arrived from the factory it is a straight rod, bolted at one end and on the other end it slips into a spring holder inside the front of the machine. In order to use the rod I would have to bend it at the bolted end to then align to the hole in the top hopper to support the hopper in an open condition. If I do this the standing rod would no longer align into the spring holder after use, and then have to be bent back to original straight alignment again. Eventually doing this over and over the 'standing rod' may fatigue and break. Any experience with this?

Poorly made
In spite of the description, it does not crush grapes. It also threw grapes out of de-stemer all over the place. Probably 3-5 % of what was put in went flying across room.
It was not in great shape when it arrived. It had been stored outside. The directions book was moldy and stuck together in a big moldy lump.
They did refund my money, but it cost several hundred dollars more to ship it to California instead of Pennsylvania where it was purchased from. They would not accept returns at the warehouse it was shipped from.
As described by others, the engineering of this machine is week. Just looks cheaply made.
I purchased a different one at 1/2 the price that does a much better job.

Response from MoreFlavor
Thank you for your review and we apologize for all of the trouble. We hope that you did get a good unit and were able to make an excellent wine this year regardless.

The machine is designed to crack the berries, but not actually crush them. We apologize the miscommunication and disappointment. Unfortunately, we are not able to process returns in our pennsylvania warehouse since it is really a distribution center. At our headquarters we can examine the machines and try to make our products better. We work with our suppliers to provide the best products at good prices, so your review and return will make a difference in the future. We appreciate your time and frustration, and we hope we can make it up to you in the future. Cheers!

there is one poor design issue
Overall I'm pleased with the machine. The built in must pump is powerful and a real labor saver. The issue I have is the must pump discharge is not compatible with standard T/C fittings. The connector and clamp are plastic and kind of cheap. I've modified my unit so to be compatible with the rest of my equipment.
