Description

Outfit any 3" diameter draft tower with these stainless steel Intertap Tower Shanks with Duotight compatible tailpiece. The 1/4" barb pairs perfectly with the Duotight 6.35 mm x 8 mm reducer (DUO100), allowing you to quickly and easily connect 8 mm OD EVABarrier draft line (D1717 & D1718).
 

The Duotight fitting is sold separately and can be found below under "You Might Also Need".

Please note these shanks are not compatible with Perlick flow control faucets.

This states that the product is not compatible with Perlick faucets. What exactly makes them incompatible? The threads should be standard, no? I have older Perlick faucets that I'd prefer not to change out, but would love to move to Duotight fittings in my tower.

BEST ANSWER: It absolutely does fit the Perlick model 630 SS faucets - I have 11 of them that says it does. It's a standard shank and would be bonkers not to work. I have not tried with older models, but I see no reason it would not work considering my older Perlick models work with the same shank that my 630 models work. By association, they must be the same - 630 fits this shank, 630 also fits standard shank, older Perlick fits same standard shank - QED, older Perlicks must also fit this shank. Also note that other sites list it as compatible - it's only MoreBeer that says it is not.
What hole size do I need for this shank? I am building my own draft tower.

BEST ANSWER: It absolutely does fit Perlick faucets - at least the 630 models. I did find that it was ever-so-slightly larger than the holes pre-punched into my kegerator draft tower. Had to use a dremel to just barely open the stainless tower holes larger (via sander/grinder for about 30 secs).

One word of warning though for using these in round Kegerator towers with 3 or more faucet openings: you need to take into account the duotight reducer you will use to attach to this shank. I replaced 3 shanks in my kegerator and it was incredibly hard to get them all in with the duotight connectors attached. I am talking hours of fiddling to try and find, slightly bend, etc. Eventually, I was able to get it in, but one of the shanks could not be completely tightened because it required loosening one of the shanks to get the other two to fit and then a wrench was blocked and could not get good purchase to tighten it back up.
Can you just buy the duotight 90 piece?

Does not fit through current holes in draft tower what is the best way to enlarge the holes?

BEST ANSWER: A step drill bit is the perfect bit for enlarging holes. We sell one or you can pick up a cheap one from a local hardware store. The fewer times you plan on using it the less you can spend. Otherwise a small file and some elbow grease can probably get the job done in a matter of minutes.
Is this the correct part to use if I want to connect EVABarrier 6.35 mm OD tubing (D1723C) to the Intertap Tower Shank with Duotight barb (D1242)?

BEST ANSWER: 6.35mm is too small. Needs 6.5mm x 8mm reducer. 6.5 mm EVABarrier tubing is mostly used for water lines for carbonation systems. Best size for beer would be 8mm.

Will this fit a Nukatap?

BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have one connected to a nukatap and one hooked to an intertap. No issues there. I did have to slightly widen the holes in my tower, however. The diameter of the threads was just a little bigger than the old standard barbed ones I had.
Does this work with standard beer line or do you have to use duo tight fittings?

Fits 630ss perlick faucets
Works with 630ss perlick faucets. Was nervous because there are mixed answers online. Can’t speak for other perlick faucets but 630ss is a fit.

Works well in my two faucet tower
Nice shank for the price. The faucet ring feels like chrome plated plastic but I didn't have any issues when mounting my Nukatap so I'm happy. Does the job I'm my two faucet tower.

A Quality Product
This product is stainless steel t. It is so much better than the cheap brass "Pera" brand shank that came with that faucet. It works great with my new Nukatap faucet. I look forward to using it with duotight fittings in the future.

Works in my 2.5" diameter draft tower
I was able to install 2 of these 90 degrees apart at the same height on a 2.5" draft tower, with duotight fittings and EVABarrier tubing. I'm considering purchasing another, and drilling a third hole 45 degrees between and slightly below the first two, and putting a third faucet on, as I can fit 3x 5 gallon kegs in my kegerator.

Exactly What I Needed
Was having problems feeding 8 MM OD EVABarrier draft line onto barbed Intertap standard barbed shank. This solved the problem and was super easy to install!
