Brace yourself! Lupulin Leg Drop has leapt off the turn buckle and it's about to lay the smackdown! Inspired by Bell's Brewery Hopslam® Ale, this burly IPA calls for a royal rumble of 6 different hop varietals, including kettle additions of Crystal, Mosaic®, US Fuggles, Centennial, and Amarillo®, and following up with a massive power bomb of Simcoe® dry hops. This cadre of Pacific Northwest hops give the beer a resounding citrus character backstopped by tropical, grapefruit and floral notes. With a giant helping of liquid and dry malt extract, boosted by 12 oz of honey, this beer is strong enough to challenge Andre himself!

Please note: this recipe calls for 12 oz. of honey, which is not included in the kit.

Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME)
MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Surprising smooth for such a strong brew
Great high gravity brew (mine came in just below 10%). Very smooth and drinkable, which can be dangerous with a brew this potent! I added 4 oz. flaked oats, 4 oz. Golden Naked Oats, and I substituted 8 oz. agave syrup for 8 oz. of honey (I only had 4 oz. honey on hand and recipe called for 12 oz. but it wasn't included in the kit.) I pitched
a mix of Safale US-05 and Safbrew BE-256 yeast. Kinda crazy, but it came out great!

Great kit, all you need it honey & yeast
Hit OG spot on!
Great flavor, I added real Apricots in the secondary fermenter for about 6 days. Just enough sweetness to cut the bite, yet still leave the hoppiness. It was truly a winner!

Great Kit! My perfect beer!
Hopslam is my all-time favorite IPA, but I live in California and it is very difficult to get. This is a great extract brewing kit! Go BIG with the yeast starter and use high-quality honey. I used pine honey imported from Turkey.
Turned out really well!
