Description

4.0-6.0% AA - Grows well in mild, moist climates and will do well in hot ones. The first choice for English ales. Really mild with pleasant flowery overtones. Though mellow it is really distinctive in its flavor profile.

Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.

Shipping Restrictions:

Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

Shipping Limitation: This item does not qualify for free shipping.

I've been growing hops in my backyard for over a decade now. Goldings are totally under-appreciated. I'm hoping they'll love my backyard as much as my other varietals.

Fun and successful growing project so far
The overall climate here at7000 ft.has been less than favorable so far to start my hop rhizomes outside this spring until now. So, instead of risking damaging them,I put them in pots inside under grow lights at about seventy degrees. I purchased four different varieties, all of which had growth within a few days. I finally got them in the ground this week and have begun training them to climb. I am very pleased with Morebeer rhizomes so far as this is my first attempt at growing them.

Durham NC 10 day duration.
This is my first attempt at growing my own hops. I didn't do much research other than a few youtube videos and some online reading. I planted these rhizomes as pairs with the hope that at least on2 would grow. I'm glad to see that both are doing well with watering 1x daily and planted in a "rot prevention" planter containing store bought soil, Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food, and Down To Earth Fish Bone Meal. the rhizomes are under about 1 inch of soil and the temperatures are rather warm (approx mid 80's). The soil in Durham is clay and does not allow proper drainage for this type of vegetation, so when the rhizome reaches full size, it will require transplantation to a specially made bed with the size and drainage required for healthy growth.
10 days later, both Rhizomes are growing.

Very Healthy!
I received my rhizomes in very healthy condition, and I look forward to getting them established and eventually a high yield. It all takes time. They’re a good company to deal with.

Doesn't grow in Phoenix, AZ very well.
I'm sure the Rhizome is fine, but tried to grow in Phoenix, AZ. I have tried multiple times, but have given up.

Arrived and grew
I ordered this in early April along with 3 other varieties. I planted them within a week of receipt and while the Golding variety was healthy with buds, it has been the weakest-growing of the 4 rhizomes I planted. That said, this may be due to locality more so than the product. I am pleased with what More Beer provided, but unsure if this is one is going to make it in the long run.

Rhizome was dry, small & poorly packaged
I ordered 4 rhizomes. This was one of four, all were in poor condition. All 4 were small in comparison to other supplier I used and package poorly. I ordered additional from another supplier after seeing the condition of these.

Would have been great....
I agree with Jim M on the health, both of the roots I received where pretty large. Had shipping delays not killed the sprouts :( and dried out the root I'd be looking at several shoots by now.

Got a refund (thanks MB), but I really think you guys need to find a better way to ship these, or at least give me a shipping option for overnight. USPS is just not up to it.
