Ugly Fish IPA Flash Brewing™ Kit
Contrary to its name, Ugly Fish IPA is one of our most beautiful beers! Inspired by the highly sought-after Ballast Point Sculpin® IPA, this beer starts with a very clean, firm bitterness and a light malt base. A beautiful blend of Simcoe® and Amarillo® Cryo Hops® lend enticing West Coast IPA flavors of grapefruit, lemon, pine, and apricot.

Flash Brewing™ Kits
Introducing MoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing™ Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home.

Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing™ eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing™ malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you.

Equipment Required for Flash Brewing™
Flash Brews can be fermented in any wide mouth 6 or 7-gallon fermenter you already own. We suggest a wide mouth fermenter so you can easily pour in the ingredients. The 7-gallon Fermonster fermenter is a perfect choice. If you are new to brewing and need a fermentation kit, click here.

We have a winner!
Just had to try it, and this turned out really nice. Is it as good as the all grain IPA I had brewed in tandem? No, but this is a delightful beer and drinks very easy. Of course I had to tweak the process a bit, which stretched it out to about a 30 minute brew day, but hey, 30 minutes? Are you kidding? But here's what I did:
1. Boiled a whirlfloc tablet and a little more than a teaspoon of yeast nutrient (I use Fermax), and add this to the initial three gallons. I have a nice filtration system so I just used my filtered water, which comes out a tad cool so the mixture brings it up to pitching temperature.
2. Stir in few ladles full of the Dry malt into the three gallons and pitch the yeast and allow it to hydrate maybe up to ten minutes. Then stir it in and then add the rest of the DME and the hop shots and stir those in as well, then filled up to slightly more than five gallons with water.
3. I did put the dry hops into a bag (sanitized paint strainer) to minimize vegetative matter and keep it cleaner. I think it worked out fine to just add the hops at the start, but I may try waiting a bit too.
4. I did rack off the finished beer into a bottling bucket and added the sugar (five ounces boiled and cooled) into the bucket and stirred before bottling.
Well again, it turned out delightful, and I look forward to making more of these. Great job on this new product line!

rookie attempt
I wanted to wet my whistle before attempting an all grain recipe and it was just as easy as described. I can't be the only one starting out like this and some info about readiness would've been appreciated. Was told to chill one and try after 2 weeks to "see if it was done" was not enough advice for a rookie. 2 weeks and a day was all foam and full of floaters and sediment... fail. Next day... same result. Next day... same result and starting to get disappointed in my purchase. Next day... floaters and sediment have sunk nicely and doesn't tend to mix back in. Occasional bottle overflow but I used a different carbonation technique than suggested. Very hoppy flavor that I was looking for. I bought the Citra Session as well but am looking into doing all grain once I get the necessary equipment Would highly recommend this technique / product if time is an issue. Pleased with the end result..

Quick brew results in tasty beer
Write your review here. It must be at least 20 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or This really was the easiest beer I've ever brewed. I had pretty low expectations but wanted to try it out in case I had a need for a "rush job" brew. I was really pleased with the outcome. I'd give it 4.5 stars because it's not perfect and I don't know how it stacks up to the real Sculpin, but it's still a really good beer that takes so little time. I think I'm going to be doing some cheating every once in a while and brew these badass kits between regular brews! Or, this would be PERFECT for a double brew day. about it.
