I Heart IPA Flash Brewing™ Kit

Flash Brewing™ Kits
Introducing MoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing™ Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home.

Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing™ eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing™ malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you.

Equipment Required for Flash Brewing™
Flash Brews can be fermented in any wide mouth 6 or 7-gallon fermenter you already own. We suggest a wide mouth fermenter so you can easily pour in the ingredients. The 7-gallon Fermonster fermenter is a perfect choice. If you are new to brewing and need a fermentation kit, click here.

Includes:

  • I Heart IPA Flash Malt™: 7 lbs
  • Centennial Cryo Hops®: 2 oz
  • HopBite™: 60 IBU Shot

  • Flash Brewing™ Instructions

Flash Brewing recipe kits do not include priming sugar. For bottling, we recommend PopTops™ Swing Top Bottles and Pop Shots Carbonation Tablets.

Can you add DME with the ingredients to the fermenter to increase ABV, if desired?

BEST ANSWER: From what I heard in a Beersmith interview, no. This extract is fully boiled (~60 minutes) not like normal extract that's boiled for far shorter.

Fantastic!
These flash brew kits are great! They produce great beer with minimal effort. I haven't sold my all gran set up yet, but I'm thinking about doing so. I recommend giving a fast brew kit a try.

Great concept, questionable results
As an experienced all-grain brewer, I thought I'd give this a try for an easy brew alternative.

First off, I found out that the 6 gallon Fermonster is too small for 5 gallons of water plus the ingredients. After about 12 hours, the fermentation was so vigorous the airlock blocked up and I switched to a blow off tube to avoid the inevitable explosion.

Secondly, if you bottle this, make sure you also purchase the priming sugar. The recipe has instructions for Pop Shots Tables that are not included. I missed that piece of information and had to use table sugar and a bottling bucket.

The beer I produced is lacking in flavor (it's like beer, but without any beer taste!). I attribute this to the hops being blown out of the fermenter during fermentation. Also weird that there is no dry hop addition in this kit. I ended up with over 2 cases of nicely carbonated, bland beer.

Overall, it's a great concept and I wish it worked out better for me. I'd try it again with less water and try to bottle directly from the fermenter using the priming sugar tables.
