Citra® Session Pale Ale is an easy-drinking beer with a light color and moderate ABV. This beer is all about the citrus and tropical flavors that made Citra® hops famous in the craft brewing scene. If you’re looking for a clean, hoppy Pale Ale to always have on hand, Citra® Session Pale Ale is the perfect choice!

Flash Brewing™ Kits
Introducing MoreBeer!'s Flash Brewing™ Kits! Designed for both novice and seasoned homebrewers, these innovative recipe kits allow you to simply mix the ingredients with water and add yeast for fermentation. This streamlined process not only saves you valuable time but also simplifies brewing without sacrificing flavor. Say hello to a faster, easier way to craft exceptional beer at home.

Typically, brewing requires you to boil your malt and hops for one hour, followed by another hour for cooling. Flash Brewing™ eliminates the need to boil. Our Flash Brewing™ malt recipes have been boiled and whirlpooled before they are dried. We then use a HopBite™ shot for bitterness combined with a mix of traditional hop pellets for flavor. Flash Yeast™ starts quickly and consistently produces clean beer that lets the malt and hops shine. The result is a high-quality beer that will absolutely surprise you.

Equipment Required for Flash Brewing™
Flash Brews can be fermented in any wide mouth 6 or 7-gallon fermenter you already own. We suggest a wide mouth fermenter so you can easily pour in the ingredients. The 7-gallon Fermonster fermenter is a perfect choice. If you are new to brewing and need a fermentation kit, click here.

Do you add priming sugar to flash kits that are kegged?
Michael S on Sep 27, 2024
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. You do not have to add priming sugar when kegging a beer if you want to force carbonate or use your CO2 tank to carbonate the beer. If you want to naturally carbonate the beer you can use priming sugar and leave the keg at room temperature for 1-2 weeks until the beer is carbonated, then you may put the keg in the fridge to serve it.
Is it normal to still see bubble activity after 14 days?

Very Interesting
I couldn't resist this concept. For what it is, it's good. I would try other flash kits. Hoppy versions seem like the way to go.

It is different that a normal homebrew, but what do you reaonably expect from a <10 minute session?

I don't get much if any malt character, whether crispness or malt flavor. I can't tell if that's due to 2 oz of cryo hops in primary overpowering and creating that juicy character, or if it's just how these kits go. I've made the all grain kit version within the last year and it's very different due to change in malt and the hops in primary.

The hop flavor is present and awesome, no slouch there. The bitterness is perfect. When you combine the low/no malt flavor and the pronounced hop flavor you end up with a hop juice flavored drink. I hate to say, it's not that much like beer to me. Then again I am an old fart who can't get into the hazy beer thing; I prefer bright appearance and taste.

The yeast (I assume some kind of Kveik) took off pretty fast. I'm the nut that temp controlled fermentation at 67F when I know it can handle ranges and more heat. I didn't take a OG (following the instructions you can't). My FG was 1.007. After fermentation, it took 7 full days at 35F for the yeast to drop clear. When it dropped it dropped pretty quick. I wasn't going for a hazy beer (they need disclaimers in my opinion). I wish I would have given it more time to clear as my beer isn't nearly clear enough yet. Hoping that will happen a few days into keg, but it will likly happen only in the last pint.

I'd guess with this process, quick acting yeast is key in order to out compete other potential wild stuff. Even so, I'd be tempted to try dry notty on this next time to get something clear quicker and easier.

My main criticism is that I'd like more malt character. Even if it's just background to hops. That said, for a low key, almost zero investment of time, it's more than fine. If you want to compare this to a fully dailed in all grain pale ale, where you've got everything customized, you need to take a step back and realize you are comparing two different things. It's a 10 minute session, expect pros/cons. Ultimately this is awesome option to have. I'm grateful to More Beer in figuring this out and offering it

Quick, easy, and tasty
I got to try out this kit when I led a 30-minute intro to homebrewing talk at our state fair. Was able to go over how beer is made first and then get someone to come help me mix the kit. Still had time for questions.

Easy enough, and the beer is tasting nice cold and out of the Fermzilla. This is a great way for people to give homebrewing an easy try and see if they want to advance onward.

Thanks for sending this for our club to use for education and recruitment, MoreBeer!

Surprisingly great
Order several of the flash kits as I have I have not had time for my usual AG batches the past few months.

Total "brew" time was about 6 minutes. Fermented in a 6.5G keg with about 6psi for the 2 days then bumped up to 15psi for 2 days to get a little head start on carbonation. Cold crashed and quick carbed on day 5. Started drinkning on day 6.

It's extremely good for how easy it was. Honestly better than a lot of the oxidized IPAs from the supermarket. Despite just using RO water, the mouthfeel is better than I would have expected.

I will certainly be making a few more batches and playing with the dry hops and yeast. I think it's known this is using some strain of kveik yeast, but not sure exactly which one. Under pressure at around 72f room temp is clean as expected.

Have the hefe kit fermenting now with Bananza

Fast Citra Session Pale Ale
BLUF: It is a fast and taste good, all my brewing buddies liked it.

In my case the fermentation was done in days but i kept it at temp for a week - I use temperature control and a Tilt to monitor when the fermentation is done. I followed the directions closely, but afterwards I wish I had put the hops into a fine mesh bag or something similiar. This became obvious at kegging time as the beer had a greenish tint to it. Yes it clears out while lagering and chilled but I'm concerned the beer was on hops too long. I also think the Cryo Citra should be done after fermentation was complete but before packaging or maybe split for half in fermentation and the other have after fermentation but before packaging. I plan to try that next time.

SURPRISINGLY DELICIOUS
I live in Nevada so I normally dont brew because it's as hot as the surface of the sun in my garage. I watched the video and was intrigued so picked up the kit. Threw it in fermenter and it femented quick. Kegged and sampled a few days after. My gosh so good. I will definately do some more of these to keep the pipeline full. Thanks Morebeer!!!!!!

OMG! Do not miss out on this kit. It's a must try.
Amazing kit!!! I couldn't believe the beer that this kit produced. I have been a home brewer for 7 yrs with all grain and just had to try it out. Literally 10 minutes from start to pitching the yeast, and another 5 minutes to clean up after. Fermentation started in 6hrs and was completely done in 7 days. ( I added some nutrient cause old habits are hard to break.)
Transfered to a secondary to pull the beer off of sediment and leave the floating hops behind, cold crashed for 2 days and forced carbonated for 3 days. Drinking it on day 14.
I have taken samples to my local breweries and they all are very impressed on how great this tastes and how little time and effort it takes to make.
I just received my second order (2 kits this time ??)
Going to throw in some Galaxy, Simcoe and Mosaic in one of them and see what happens. ?????
So long to 6-8 hr brew days. The work has already been done for you.
You will not be disappointed. A perfect 5% that is so crushable and tastey. ??
