Description

Twin lever wing corker for corking wine bottles. The Easy corker has a unique spring mechanism that grabs the neck of the bottle and holds tight while the cork is inserted. Insert a cork into the plastic window and lower the handles. The depth of the cork can be adjusted by moving the 2 nuts on the top of the threaded shaft. Patented design made by Ferrari in Italy.

Adequate with considerations
I bottled my first batch of Cabernet Sauvignon today. I bought this corker to do it. For small 5 gal batch, this was fine but being inexperienced, I had some issues.
-The ram in the corker gouged the corks so every one is scarred. Small torn pieces were in the corker and ended up in a bottle or two.

I used #9 corks, which may be the issue. I have also read that #8s are recommended. Tests with #9 came out ok. This unit should have documentation or the website should have instructions as to which corks go with this corker or with standard 750ml bottles.

-The adjusting nuts at the top got loose after bottling 24 bottles…before I noticed it. I had heard about this and therefore torqued them tightly before starting bottling. No apparent effect from the loose adjusters, but still a bit annoying that it requires attention.

Gets the job done.
I inherited this from a friend. She told me to use synthetic corks with it and so I don't understand why they recommend natural cork. I don't have any problems with it except it is a bit tough to use. I grow a small amount of grapes and only bottle about 25 at a time, not much more than 50 bottles total. I'm 60 and that's enough for me. It's been around several years and if it breaks I'd definitely move to a floor model, only for the ease of use.

It strips the cork as it tries to get it in the bottle, shaving the cork. Also very flimsy like the cheapo bottle cappers in Homebrew kits. Good for entry level maybe, but after about 5 or 6 bottles, you will want an upgrade.
