Description

Achieve consistent and optimal fermentation temperatures with the FermWrap Fermentation Heater. This flexible and easy-to-use unit wraps snugly around your fermenter, providing gentle and controlled heat.

Provides gentle, even heating with 40 watts spread over almost two square feet

Keep your yeast happy and your ferment warm during those cold winter months with this flexible heater wrap! Don't be fooled by imitators and cheap knock-offs, this is the original FermWrap that has been produced by Fermentap for over a decade. Unlike those old heater belts, the FermWrap covers a wide area of your carboy or fermentation vessel, promoting an even heat distribution. Using tape to adhere, the FermWrap can be attached directly to your fermenter, or can be used to heat the space in a box (or refrigerator) that the fermenter is in. Depending on your configuration and insulation, you can increase the temperature of your ferment from 5-20°F. This differential can be increased by using the BrewBuilt™ Neoprene Carboy Sleeve.

With 40 watts of heat spread over almost two square feet, it provides gentle, even heating.

For more precise results, we recommend a temp controller and carboy thermowell. The controller will monitor the fermentation temp and only power on the FermWrap if the temperature drops below your set point. For the ultimate level of control, we recommend pairing it with the BrewBuilt CoolStix™ to provide cooling. With both accessories plugged into the temp controller, you'll get cooling or heating whenever you need it.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, I have also used it on my Spidel 30 L ( 7.9 Gal). And works excellent. I did use a beach towel to wrap around my plastic Spide 30 L as temps were dropping down into the 30 s in my shop.

Yes they surely can. That’s what I use them on. Just attach with 2” waterproof electrical tape that can be purchased on amazon.

How do you use the FermWrap with the Fermzilla and the Insulating Jacket? I thought the Fermzilla couldn't use a heater because it's plastic.

I would not use the FermWrap. It is too wide to fit the FermZilla and it is rated at 40 watt. Kegland suggests under 30 watt is safe. I used 4" wide reptile heat wrap for my FermZilla. That is 22 watts and I have had no problems.

BEST ANSWER: I use mine on a 7 gal stainless steel fermenter and am VERY happy with it. I brew in my garage and with an inkbird controller, this heater will keep my beer at 68 F even when the garage temp is 30 F. I use black electrical tape to hold it against the fermenter. To be fair, I do wrap the fermenter with insulation right over the heater.

Sure. I use in glass carboy, so see no reason you can’t use with stainless steel. Note, you need to tape it onto fermenting vessel to secure in place. Recommend Gorilla Tape or something strong enough to hold weight. Ok to cover up when on as well to insulate.

Yes, I tape it on with blue tape, which is easy to remove. It doesn't fit on my conical very well because the legs get in the way, but I use it often on my flat walled stainless steel fermenter.

Yes! I have two 14 gallon Fermenters, a bit tricky to wrap. However, even with cold winter temps in my shop, the wrap assists maintain internal temp at 66 degrees. Cheers!

Sure I don’t see any reason you can’t. All the wrap does is heat the surface it’s touching. I use mine on glass carboys attached with blue masking tape.

How much can you raise the temperature with the sleeve added?

BEST ANSWER: I wrapped a glass fermenter with this heater and then covered everything with towels. It fermented a beer with Kveik yeast at close to 100°F. It might be able to go higher, but it seemed like that was about the limit. I used a temperature controller to maintain that temperature, so I don't know for sure.

Hey Jeff, easily 10-15 degrees. I wrap fermentor (6gallon glass BigMouth Bubblers) with towels to insulate. It might go higher but I have never tried. If you are thinking of Kveik (30degrees or more) I cannot say. Good luck.

I think it depend on your fermentation vessel and ambient temp. I am using a stainless steel fermenter, that I enclose in a sleeping bag. I am able to ferment with a kviek yeast at around 95 degrees this way.

I’ve had these hold 5 gallons of beer at 90 degrees in a 58 degree room with no problem. You can wrap a few towels around it to keep the heat in or to help raise the temperature more quickly.

Just to be clear: the layer should be from center-out 1. Wort, 2. Bucket, 3. Heater, 4. Blanket, 5. Room Surrounding the bucket. Please use a controller for this 40watt heater. I recommend a thermowell to measure the culture temp.

BEST ANSWER: I have a 7 gallon BrewBucket, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t work on the Anvil. I wrap it around the fermenter and use masking tape to tape the edges to the fermenter.

I think you can strap it on to nearly any fermenter. I have one on my 7 gal Brew Buckets, which is as about a challenging of a geometry as you can find.

Awesome product paired with a temp controller.

This fermwrap has been exceptional at keeping my fermentation temps where they need to be. Paired with an Inkbird controller, thermowell, and sitting in a mini fridge, I am able to dial in my temps +\- 1 degree.

Perfect for ferm freezer

Works great in my ferm freezer with the inkbird-308 wifi. Heats nice and steady to keep the freezer near 70 in my cold basement

Holds temperature well.

It seems to work well enough. The only issue I have is that it doesn't come with anything to hold it on the vessel. Since it doesn't wrap all the way around it could use some sort of strap.

Works well, little flimsy

Works perfectly with our new bung and temp controller and thermowell. We have a much better control of our fermentation temperature. Would purchase again, but it does seem a little flimsy so I’m not sure how long it will last. We currently have it keeping our Lambic Ale at then proper fermentation temperature.

I am a bit disappointed with the heater, but it is my own fault. I assumed the heater would be thermostaticly controlled, it is not. Apartrom that it works great, I just have to keep an eye on it.
