The Fast Ferment is an affordable conical fermenter that allows a brewer or winemaker to collect sediment in the included collection ball for easy removal. Easy to use and more affordable than stainless steel conicals.

During fermentation the bottom valve is left open so that sediment will fall into the collection ball. After fermentation is over the valve is shut and the collection ball can be removed without introducing oxygen into the fermenter. Typically with most small conical fermenters if you let trub dump out the bottom air has to come into to replace that volume.  After dumping sediment or trub the collection ball can be reattached and the valve opened again to allow clean yeast to settle into the ball. That yeast can then be used to ferment your next batch of beer.

If you are a brewer who likes to do a primary and secondary fermenter having a conical that allows you to avoid that transfer is going to save time and reduce oxidation. Made from HDPE plastic care should be taken when cleaning. Only use a chemical cleaner like PBW and do not use an abrasive cleaning pad that could scratch the interior.

I will be using this to make large yeast starters. The mason jar attachment is going to be very convenient.

Great if you know a couple things going in
I have owned the 3G FastFerment for about 6 months. The first thing you need to know is the wall mounts are hidden under the cardboard at the bottom of the box. I threw mine out and didn't find out until later. Take your time and leak test your unit with water before fermenting your first batch of beer. There is tape supplied in the box with the unit. The only thing this doesn't fix is the lid. I have yet to see the airlock bubble on this thing, so there is an air leak but my beers flavor has not been affected and no contaminated batches so far. I also recommend using a small bowl underneath when changing out mason jars if you don't want to clean up a mess. Batch priming is a bit difficult if you don't like the possibility of aeration. The only way I have found is to dump priming solution directly in the top and wait 24 hours to allow the yeast to mix things up for you prior to bottling, otherwise you would have to use carbonation drops, keg, or transfer to a bottling bucket. Lastly, for those who dry hop FastFerment only makes accessories for this purpose for their larger version.

Nice Fermenters
Just purchased the 3 gal. fermenter to brew 3 gal. wine kits. I haven't had the chance to start a batch in this one yet, since after receiving it I realized it was missing a gasket in the mason jar connection. Reached out to MoreBeer and FastFerment and received a replacement part in a weeks time. I have two 7.9 gallon FastFerment fermenters, and have brewed a couple of batches in both of them (two batches of beer in one, and two batches of hard cider in the other. They work great.

My Fast Ferment is great. It makes wine making easy. So much easier than using buckets and siphons. Highly recommended.

Great for small batches
I like it. Works pretty well for saving yeast between batches. Need to be careful about trub from kettle, I blocked the cone/drain first time.

Good Fermenter
Follow the direction that come with the unit. Do not over tighten the bottom where the valve attaches to the unit. They even give you Teflon tape to make a tight seal. It is easy to clean and sanitize. It is a perfect size for me

Excellent Value
Have made 5 batches so far with excellent results. The only thing I had to do not mentioned in Fast Ferments video was to smooth out the surface at the top of the opening. The mold process left a small indent and it just isn't finished well. I have been using keg lube on the large "O" ring in the top lid and the small "O" ring where the bottom jar assembly attaches.

If you compare this to a carboy, dollar for dollar, I will buy one of these every time.

Excellent fermenter for the money.
Have used this fermenter once so far and it works very well, and a great value.
