Description

Don't run away from this Evill Twin! Instead, run toward and embrace it like a long lost sibling. The Evill Twin Roller Mill is the perfect sidekick for any brewer needing to grind malted and non-malted barley, corn and other grains. Operation is smooth and easy thanks to the longer mill shaft. Unlike other manual mills, the crank on the Evill Twin connects to the shaft far enough away from the mill body that you won't scrape your knuckles on the grain bucket with every revolution. Better yet, the mill shaft comes ready to hook up to an electric power drill with no extra parts needed. Run your drill at 500 RPM and you'll be able to crush up to 6 pounds per minute! The adjustable gap setting allows you to customize your grind to the size of the grain, and thanks to the stainless steel construction, you can rest assured that this mill will last as long as its malevolent disposition.

Features:

  • Easily adjustable gap setting
  • Hopper holds 10 lbs
  • Mill shaft comes ready to connect to an electric power drill
    • With the drill running at 500 RPM, crush up to 6 lbs/minute
  • Rollers and hopper screws made from stainless steel
  • Frame, hand crank and hopper made from aluminum

Please note: This mill is designed for use with brewing grains only. It will not work for cracking whole kernel corn.

What are the correct settings to crush 2-row and Pilsner malts?
Lawrence Reichner on May 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I'd start at 0.05 and crush about a cup or so to visually see how it looks, then adjust as you go. Right now I have mine set to about 0.0625 and I get ~75 % efficiency with Victory 2-row, but I do have to recirculate quite a lot.
Can grain be finely crushed with this mill, like flour?
Stefan Mueller on Aug 12, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have the gap on mine moderately set for cracked corn. If I run the corn thru the mill twice, it turns roughly half of it into corn flower. So I'd say depending on what you're running and how tight you set the rollers, you could get a really fine flour. Chuck a cordless drill on the shaft and let it eat!
Is the base included?
L. H. Lipscomb on Jan 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the base is included. It sits on top of a five gallon bucket perfectly.

Not terrible for the price.
It does what it's supposed to do. The markings on the knob/plate for roller gap adjustment are inaccurate but using feeler gauges makes that a non issue.

I didn't buy this at more beer, I bought it at a local Homebrew Supply. They say that the rollers are stainless steel, I don't know if I believe that, the metal is soft and lost the bite from the teeth that are cut into the rollers rapidly and they went fairly smooth, I haven't used this a dozen times and now it won't mill anything. I used a drill motor, that's why I bought it because it said it could do it, it worked great for a while, I wasn't doing it at full-blown high speed either I was trying to get a consistent even grind. I haven't used it a dozen times.. Nowit won't it won't Mill anything anymore the main running wheel gone mostly flat and lost it's grip. I tend to think the wheels are aluminum I'm not happy with it I'm going to write a letter to the manufacturer I wouldn't recommend buying this, it's way overpriced. I'm not knocking more beer, they've treated me well but this particular product I think is not worth a dang.

barley mill
for the price this mill works great. i wish the rollers both turned from power instead of friction. you have to set the nap just so or the second roller won’t turn or no grain will go through. i suspect that all the mills designed with only one driven roller are like this. but when i got the setting right it grinds fine and my original gravities have been several points higher on my usual recipes.

Pretty damn good
Easy to put together, easy to use, and great product. Hook a drill up to where the crank would be and grind away.

Perfect Mill for a hobby distiller/brewer.
The EVIL TWIN mill does everything I need and then some. With my cordless drill chucked up on the shaft, it will chew through 20 lbs of cracked corn in less than 10 minutes...and that is running it through twice to pulverize it into a corn flour/meal consistency. Works as advertised

Solid construction, quality material, frustrating to use.
It gets the job done but I think it could work a little better for how much it costs. I use mine with a power drill and I have trouble getting both rollers to spin. It will only catch the 2nd roller if a piece of grain gets between them otherwise just the main roller spins and uncrushed grain spills out around the roller into the bucket. I have it set to .04 which is the size I prefer to mill at for my setup. A lot of the time I have to reach underneath the mill in spin the 2nd roller with my hand to get it going, then after a few seconds of milling the second roller will disengage and it stops milling grain again. I spend more time fighting with it then actually milling grain but again, it gets the job done..

assembled easly. works well. does exactly what i wanted it to do. sits nicely on top of a 5 gal bucket. one word of caution: if you are useing a drill motor to turn the mill keep one hand on the mill or board it is attached to so that if it "binds" the drill motor will not "flip" the mill and spill grain all over the place (i did that once, what a mess). learn by doing. very happy with it. good product. good price. i recommend it.

Not as good as the Barley Crusher
Had my Barley Crusher for 7 years or so. Decided I would try this instead and save myself $20. Should have just got another one. The base doesn't fit on a bucket. The black rubber stoppers are too far apart to fit on a bucket. Also the hopper was rubbing on the rollers when attached. Easily bended the metal back so it wouldn't happen but its not just assemble and its a mill. You will defiantly have to trouble shoot issues with this thing.
