No more struggling with different techniques to get a siphon started! Get an Easy Siphon and you won’t have to worry about it anymore; one pump and the siphon is running. Talk about Easy!
Comes with 1/2" cane. 1/2" tubing must be purchased separately. Moves more beer in less time than the 3/8” version.
  1. Sanitize and rinse your Easy-Siphon.
  2. Get the inner tube gasket and the outer tube wet.
  3. Attach the curved siphon to a hose.
  4. Submerge the end of Easy-Siphon into your container.
  5. If bottling directly, attach the correct bottle for the tubing you are using and place it inside your bottle wand. Otherwise place the the tubing into the container you're racking to.
  6. Pull the inner tube up about 7" until the liquid fills the tube.
  7. Pump the inner tube down and siphon will begin.
  8. Pull out inner tube and sanitize Easy-Siphon for storage.
Our standard 1/2" racking cane tips will work with this product, see our You Might Also Need section below for product information.

I've been through two of these. They work well for a while but eventually the little valve piece down near the tip brakes. It needs to be redesigned with a little more durability.

Would this work to transfer from a kettle to the fermenter? I'm doing five gallon batches in an 8 gallon kettle, and it's too heavy to handle accurately.
Matthew C Dowdy on Oct 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: yes..I have had both sizes. I really like the 1/2" size (larger). But should really work well for transferring from the kettle to the fermenter. You made need some sort of clamp on the tube and edge of the kettle to keep it in place in the kettle
Sucks in air around seal when the liquid level gets low. Works good until the level reaches the tube seal then air is pulled on with the siphon. Anyone else have this problem? Can the seal be replaced?
Larry Geren L on Dec 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have that issue as well and I'm in the market for a new siphon! I haven't been happy with this
purchase from the first use but have put up with it.

Works well, good for the money, but hard to clean
I got this after scaling up to 5 gal, the smaller cane I had for 1 gal batches would just barely reach the bottom of a 5 gal bucket. This works beautifully, transfers fast and is surprisingly easy to use.

My only complaint is the one way valve doesn't come apart so its basically impossible to clean properly. Not an issue really for most transfers but I clogged it up trying to transfer an unfiltered ginger ale and it took some effort to get it cleaned out.

Poor Siphon
Seal was not good. Had to pump several times to get started, and would stop.. Will be asking for a refund.

Works Great!
I use 3/8 silicone tubing throughout my system. This 1/2 in creates a snug, airtight fit.

Transfers quickly
Does the job in less time than the smaller auto-siphon. If you're currently using the smaller one, this one has to be primed a bit more forcefully just to get it started; but once it gets going, it really flows.

Fast Transfer
I like the quick transfer that thew 1/2" siphon provides. Easy to clean too.

So far, FAIL
I got the 1/2 inch siphon thinking it would make transfers all the more speedy and effortless. In my estimation, it made it exponentially harder. The hose itself is bulkier and therefore fails to create a nice tight seal around the siphon. It sucks air along with liquid. Because the seal is not tight, it also stops siphoning- several times for the same batch. Because I have to start the siphon repeatedly, it disturbs the trub layer at the bottom of my fermenter. It was terrible and I haven't used it but once. I wish I would not have bothered and had gotten the standard 3/8 inch siphon.

I ordered 2 as I have cracked at least 2 of these. Wish they were a little more durable because it is a great tool for racking small quantities of wine,.
