Calming down with a beer writing this. I just had my worst transfer ever with this product on the most expensive beer I ever brewed and I'm really hoping the beer survived. This product wears out fairly quickly. I give it 7-10 transfers and the seal is shot. I knew it was going and tried to get a replacement but they aren't available. A simple replacement and you can't buy one. Half way through the transfer the seal started sucking in air. I thought I had lifted the siphon, but no. As the pull got harder more and more air was sucked until the siphon failed. Now I have 2.5 gallons to go and it is almost impossible to start a siphon with so little beer left. I went to a smaller set up but it wasn't happening. I wound up poouring the beer out into a pitcher and filtering it into the keg. It was a Russian Imperial with cherries, cacao nibs and vanilla beans. What a mess. I will not ever think about this product again.

I start my siphon with sanitizer. Then put it in the beer and the sanitizer pulls the beer out. No air.
