Description

The Easy Jiggler combines the convenience of a hand-pump auto siphon with the longevity and simplicity of a stainless steel racking cane. Plastic auto siphons are easy to use, but they're prone to cracking after heavy use and can break easily if they're dropped on the ground. Stainless racking canes won't break on you, but getting the siphon started is its own debacle. You either have to cap your carboy and blow through the hood, exposing your beer to oxygen, or you have to suck on the end of the hose, which isn't exactly sanitary. Enter the jiggle siphon, the last racking cane you'll ever own! Get jiggle with it!

Made from 304 stainless steel, the Easy Jiggler will last a lifetime and can be quickly disassembled for cleaning and sanitizing. To use, simply insert the tip of the jiggler into your fermenter and give it a few long, steady strokes to begin the siphon. Once it's going, you'll hear the glass ball inside spinning away. To avoid disturbing the trub cake at the bottom of the fermenter, we recommend doing the jiggling action near the surface and then lower the cane once the siphon has begun.

This Easy Jiggler makes small wine moves easy and cleaning is also a breeze. This is our second purchase. We will be cutting the cane portion off to be able to use this in varying sized containers... so we wish there was a straight version, too. Note: make sure the end is screwed on tight with each use... it wants to "jiggle" off... but works fantastic!!

Polycarbonate auto siphons have a poorly designed check valve which often becomes dislodged. The cheaper price of the plastic siphons is simply not worth the frustration.

BEST ANSWER: Hi Richard, the OD of the stainless cane is 14mm ( a hair bigger than 1/2'') and ID is 12mm (a hair smaller than 1/2'').

BEST ANSWER: I'm guessing that it would ... in the end you are using gravity to move liquids. When you are first shaking the wand to initiate a flow, I would NOT have the filler wand attached (as it would inhibit flow). Get gravity working in your favor and then pinch the hose and attach the filler wand.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the easy jiggles is amazingly well made, easy to clean. However it’s a pain to start a siphon. It sits in my box of stuff that I don’t use.

BEST ANSWER: The R390 1/2" Racking Cane clip works with this. The Auto Siphon clips do not work, as the OD of the Auto Siphon is much larger.

good product
shipped and received in very timely manner. product worked as advertised. works well transferring hot (200+ deg.) liquids where plastic canes won't. one tip... wear a glove to hold it when transferring hot liquids... it gets too hot to hold otherwise.

This siphon can get clogged and stop when you are using whole hops and it is hard to get started without a full carboy but it won’t break .

Fast & Easy Once You Get the Hang of It
I use this for bottling kombucha in one-gallon batches. It's a bit of over-kill, but it works great, now that I've got the hang of it. First time, I had beginner's luck; it worked like a charm, even though it made a hole in my scobie (which healed within two weeks before processing the next batch). The second time, while trying to save my scobie, I banged the edge of the glass vat & broke it after bottling only half the batch. Oh well, no big deal - we lost only two quarts. The third time, I got smart and removed the scobie to a glass bowl while using the siphon, and it worked like a charm. This is obviously made for emptying kegs with gallons of beer rather than a gallon at a time, but I made it work after getting tired of crappy plastic siphons that keep breaking. It's kind of fun, too. If I ever decide to increase production, this siphon will serve me even better than it already does.

Well made, has some limitations
The good: A high quality racking cane that will last a very long time with good care. Easy to use and clean.

The limitations: Small amounts of hop material, Trub or slurry will clog this cane up very quickly. If you lose your siphon in the last 20% of racking it is impossible to restart.

I like this cane and I will continue to use it, but I will always keep a pump style siphon on hand as a back up.

Great piece of equipment!
I've owned several of the poly cane pumps over the years. While they work fine, the plastic does become brittle over time ... both the cane and the pump cylinder have broken requiring replacement. The stainless steel cane eliminates this issue completely and the pump cylinder piece is not even a factor given the built-in jiggler mechanism. Awesome improvement!

Okay siphon
Works okay - takes a little to get working and the siphon can break if hops or fruit get stuck on the glass bead. Also to get it going , you are agitating the beer mixing the yeast in the bottom.

Good investment for siphoning beer
Easy to use and easy to clean. I noticed no air bubbles while transferring like I used to see when using my autosiphon. It even came with appropriately sized tubing.
