Description

This Duotight check valve is a great idea for protecting your regulator or add it in line with your mains water pressure when using the KegLand Continuous Soda Carbonator Keg Lid. It has a low opening pressure of 1 psi. This check valve is suitable for clean liquids such as water or for gas. Since it cannot be disassembled for cleaning, we do not recommend it for beverage applications. The internal components are made from stainless steel. Compatible with EVABarrier 8 mm OD Tubing (D1717 & D1718).

Duotight fittings are high-quality push-in fittings that seal tight and offer superior sealing capacity due to the double O-ring sealing design.

High Performance Double O-Ring Design:
The secret to Duotight’s superior sealing performance comes from the fact that they use not one, but two high-quality EPDM O-rings.  The double O-ring means they have literally twice the sealing surface when compared with other push-in fittings.  This makes them more reliable and significantly reduces the chance of leakage.

The double O-ring system also means that tubing can be bent at a much tighter radius without causing leaking issues, which can be an issue with other fittings.  This combination of factors makes Duotight the most reliable push-in fittings on the market.

EPDM offers excellent chemical resistance for a longer life span. When compared with silicone and vinyl, EPDM has much better gas transmission rates, better wear resistance, and is BPA-free.

No Clamps Necessary!
We recommend cutting your tubing straight, not on an angle, to ensure the line forms a complete seal. To remove the fitting simply push in the collet and the hose can be removed.

Features:
  • Insert tubing and firmly push to connect
  • Easily release tubing by pushing in the collet
  • Suitable for both gas & water applications
  • Made from food-grade acetal plastic
  • Double O-rings made from highly chemical resistant EPDM
  • Locking teeth made from stainless steel
  • Pressure rated to 150 psi
  • Temperature rated to 212°F (100°C)

Please note: exposure to chlorine will degrade the acetal plastic and stainless steel these fittings are made from. Do not use in contact with bleach or other chlorinated cleaning chemicals.

I'm using the mini regulators for each of my kegs. Where would I put the check valve?
{CO2 Tank Reg} > {Mini Reg} > {Check Valve} > {Keg}
{CO2 Tank Reg} > {Check Valve} > {Mini Reg} > {Keg}
Gary Haygood on Feb 24, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Correction to my previous answer. I initially didn't notice that this check valve is not rated for liquids like beer. That being the case, the check valve needs to go between the CO2 tank regulator and the mini regulator.
Where do I connect it?
Dmytro Dobrovolskyi on Dec 13, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Between the ball lock and manifold or tank on the gas side. Make sure the arrow is going toward the keg so gas can flow to the keg.

faulty check valve?
I got these, like others, to prevent beer going back into the gas system when a keg is filled to the top. However, this one failed in its duties. Or am I using it wrong?

Okay for water, but not for CO2
I have one of these on my continuous carbonated water keg's input water line. That works fine with just a very faint hum when the water flows. Installed on my CO2 lines, they made an embarrassing and annoying loud squeal with every pour. I removed them and replaced them with stainless check valves on each CO2 line - no more squeal. I have seen that Duotight makes a similar check valve specifically for gas lines that might work better for CO2, but I've only seen it for sale at one vendor in Canada, so haven't tried it.

I inserted these when I added a second keg to my kegerator. They are doing their job and prevent liquid from back flowing into my co2 regulator but the reason I gave only a 3 star rating is because I now have an annoying whistling sound when I pour. Still searching for a solution but I may have to switch to a double feed regulator.
