Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

(Makes 5 gallons) - A true Dunkelweizen recipe. This beer style focuses on the traditional hefeweizen flavors and aroma's but with more malt flavor. A nice blend of caramunich and chocolate malt help give the beer a nice dark color and round malt character.

Please Note: In order to better serve our customers, we are now offering our extract recipe kits with either Liquid Malt Extract (LME) or Dried Malt Extract (DME). Seemed like on of the better extract dunkel kits out there, looked at a lot of different options but this one had more variety in the ingredients.

lacking head
Been brewing about 15 years now. Been to Oktoberfest twice. I love a great Dunkel. While the flavor was good (a little too sweet maybe for me), there was little to no head, which made me resort to some pretty drastic pouring techniques to generate said head. Neighbors loved the beer and when you serve this in a plastic cup, no one will even miss that big wheaty, frothy head anyway. I'd consider adding more crystal or carastan to improve the head for future.

Pretty good beer kit
I really liked this kit. Went with the LME option. I did add 8oz. DME and 8oz. brown sugar to bump it up to about 6.1%. Partial boil, 70% late malt addition and used Munich Classic yeast @ 68* to 70*. Turned out 100% great. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will try to ferment @72* to try to get a little more Banana flavor out of it unless it's cool enough to ship Wyeast 3068..maybe not. More Beer should add Munich Classic to the drop down list of yeasts, it's a great option, IMO. Keep up the great kits MB !!

easy drinking dark wheat beer
Nothing too complex here just an easy drinking German wheat beer that goes down smooth.

Wow! Reminds me of Bavaria
Wow! The WL liquid yeast was slow to get started but once it kicked off I was so glad I used a blow off tube. This is the best kit yet that I have purchased from MoreBeer. Beats American pale ale, Hefeweizen, Belgian. Going to start a second batch now.

A great kit!
Nice malty kick with that familiar wheat beer taste. This kit is well balanced and expertly put together. I've ordered lots of kits from MoreBeer and never hated any of them.. this one though gets top marks from me, borderline perfect! Will be brewing this one again.
