Description

  • The most affordable all-in-one automated all-grain brewing system!
  • Mash grains and boil wort in a single vessel
  • DigiBoil electric kettle automatically maintains mash temperatures with the digital controller
  • Dual heating elements combine for 1500W of power
  • Also available with optional Recirculation Pump Kit!

The DigiMash system represents the best value in electric all-grain brewing you'll find. With a 9-gallon DigiBoil electric kettle and the DigiMash stainless steel mashing accessory pack included, this is by far the most affordable way to get into electric all-grain brewing.  It may not have all the bells and whistles of the BrewZilla, but it does have everything you need to mash and boil all in one unit. Setting up and using the DigiMash couldn't be easier. Simply place the false bottom inside the kettle and install the malt pipe, fill with water and heat to your desired strike temperature, then add your grain and set your desired mash temperature on the digital controller. Once your mash is complete, lift up the malt pipe, drain the wort and sparge, then remove the malt pipe and proceed to boil.

If you're deciding between the DigiMash and the BrewZilla, there are a couple of key differences worth noting. One of our favorite features of the BrewZilla is the programmable mash steps and delayed start, which the DigiMash does not have. You can still step mash by simply raising the temperature manually on the controller, but the automatic steps are a convenient feature if you want to set it and forget it.

The other major difference between the two systems is that the BrewZilla features a built-in pump for recirculating the mash. Recirculation is a great way to improve mash efficiency, but it is far from required for a successful brew day. Using an external pump with the DigiMash is also an option, and one can be integrated for mash recirculation quite easily. Simply connect the ball valve to the inlet of your pump, and then connect the outlet of the pump to our Sparge Arm Assembly.

This model comes with the 35L DigiBoil, which has two built-in heating elements that run off a 110V plug. One element is 1000w and the other is 500w for a combined 1500 watts! The elements can be individually controlled, allowing you to use a single element to gently hold temperatures, or engage both elements to quickly go from mash temp to boiling. Temperatures are set and automatically maintained through the digital control panel. Simply set your desired temperature and flip on the heating element(s).

Integrated stainless ball valve comes with a 13mm barb (approx. 1/2"). The barb can be removed to attach fittings with 1/2" FPT, such as our female threaded quick disconnect.

DigiBoil Features:

  • 304 stainless steel construction
  • 9 gallon total capacity
  • Digital temperature control
  • 110V / 15A power and plug (5 ft. cord)
  • Dual heating element control (1000w and 500w)
  • Heating elements are concealed for easy cleaning
  • 304 stainless steel 1/2" ball valve with 13mm barb (approx. 1/2")
  • Stamped-in volume markers (gallons & liters)
  • Stainless lid
  • Temperature reads in °F or °C
    • With elements turned off, hold both +/- buttons to switch between °F or °C
  • Recommended max. grain bill - 18 lbs
  • Recommended min. grain bill - 8 lbs
  • External Dimensions: 29" H x 15" W (including handles)
  • Internal Dimensions: 19.5" H x 11.75" W

DigiMash Stainless Steel Accessory Pack Includes:

  • False bottom
  • Malt pipe
  • Wire support
  • Malt pipe handle
  • Malt pipe bottom screen

Are the handles sturdy enough to lift unit with 6 gallon of wort?
dean reedy on Dec 5, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Yes, and the unit itself is relatively light, so the weight will all be with the water. I’ve reluctantly lifted it by the handles with 6.5-7 gallons of water in it. Unit is totally sturdy, sides will be pretty hot so just make sure to keep your forearms from pressing against it while lifting.
Hello. Would it be possible to connect a bazooka screen to the existing ball valve?
Stefan Mueller on Oct 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I cannot see why not, though I would wonder what the purpose would be, the included false bottom does a great job, and a cheap grain bag addressed the problems I was having.
If I plan to use a separate boil kettle can I use this as a mash tun without the mash pipe?
Kenneth Dickie on Dec 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Kenneth, you will need the mash pipe for the mash because of the false bottom screen they hold. The mash pipe will also keep the grain from getting in contact with the bottom (will prevent scorching of your grain).

Put it through the ringer and performed well but not impressed.
I've been brewing all-grain (cooler and direct fire mash tun) for several years and wanted to brew inside during the cold new England winters.

That said, my first brew so far was in a 30° garage with a 14lb grain bill.

TLDR;
Definitely can't handle 18lbs like the spec sheet says. I maxed it out at 13 lbs and 7.75 gallons of strike water. Maybe try a grain bag for more grist.

Took 1.5 hours to get strike water to mash temp (153°) in 40° garage, meh.

Kept a nice rolling boil at 1000w heating. A plus.

Surprised it fairly easy to clean, except for the malt pip catcher that loops inside. That was covered in malt from maxing out the malt pipe.

Happy first time brewer
This was my first time brewing beer, and I went all grain too. I loved being able to set the mash temperatures digitally. The equipment worked as it should, and I couldn’t have had a smoother brew day. The beer turned out great.
The digital control of the Digimash allowed me to mash and boil with confidence.

Great bare bones system
It's a great bare bones all-in-one electric system. I don't need the fancy programming and bells and whistles that come with the more expensive products. In retrospect I would have gotten the version with the pump to recirculate for increased efficiency, but I can buy that separately.

Very capable system for a very good price. After just one brew session, indoors in winter, I'm very glad I went for it.

Great value and easy to use.
I’ve used it twice so far and I love it. Everything from mash to boil in one pot. The insert lifts all the grains out and the double mesh screens filter the majority of the husks out. The great thing is there’s not boil over. I gave it 4 stars because there were no assembly instructions for the insert, just plastic bags of parts, but if you’re mechanicly inclined you’ll figure it out.

Good value, some quality issues
For the money, this is fantastic. It made my brew day easy and already looking forward to brew number two.

The wire support for this item seems too large. It overlaps when inserted, which does not seem to be an issue on other similar systems. It also took significant effort to place it in, which discourages me from removing it for cleaning.

The bottom screen of the malt pipe is not entirely flat. I am not sure if this was a shipping issue or just poor quality control.

The handle for the malt pipe is just strangely designed. It can fall out when the malt pipe isn't completely in.

Overall though, it works.

Maintaining a consistent mash temp with the element is a little difficult. I’m going to have to start insulating when mashing. Other than that, works well. Time to 163 is about 45 mins.
