Description

Corn Sugar, or dextrose, is used to "prime" your beer to produce natural carbonation in the bottle. "Priming" is the act of adding a small amount of fresh fermentable sugar to the beer just before bottling so that the residual yeast will consume it and produce carbonation in the sealed bottle. We recommend corn sugar for this purpose because it is easy for the yeast to consume and has a neutral flavor profile, meaning it will leave your beer tasting the way you designed it!

Use 4 oz of corn sugar to prime 5 gallons prior to bottling. Dissolve the corn sugar in 1-1.5 pints of water and boil for 5 minutes to sanitize prior to mixing with your beer.

Corn sugar can also be used to boost your original gravity without impacting the beer's flavor profile. Adds 1.037 points per pound per gallon (PPG) to your specific gravity.

i love to use this instead of table sugar to dry out my tripels. the yeast seem to have an easier time burning through this than table sugar. comes out cleaner.

What is the most u can add to a 5 gallon batch of beer? Would 2.5 be to much
bryan w on Nov 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I usually use 3/4 cup in 2 cups of water and boil it for 10 minutes. Then I cool it, add it to a sanitized container, and siphon the beer to bottle on top of it. If you're measuring by wieght, this much corn sugar comes to about 4 oz.

Brewing or bottling, good sugar
Comes in well sealed package-
Good for use as adjunct in beer to raise ABV with little flavor addition or for bottling.

good all rounder
This is a good clean sugar for boosting or drying out a beer without making itself too obvious in the recipe. Very neutral and simple

great for bottle carbonation
I add 6 oz to a 5 gallon batch. I prefer my beer with a little more fizz. Have yet to have a bottle explode
