Description

A synthetic cork with the ability to last 4 years plus. Supercorks are manufactured in Italy by Enolandia. One of the very first companies to make a synthetic cork, they have a history of quality since the 1980's. Supercorks have been tested to keep their elasticity and sealing integrity for at least four years. This makes them a nice alternative for winemakers who want to eliminate the potential issues of porosity or TCA contamination inherent in cheaper natural corks but also want the ability to age wine more than a few years. This cork measures 23x38mm.

May not work with your corker.
If you have a Colonna Capper/Corker, DO NOT BUY THESE CORKS. I've corked hundreds of bottles of wine with my Colonna and natural corks with no issues. These corks do not compress and feed properly into my corker. They deform as they are being pushed through the funnel mechanism and only about 40% of them seated into the bottle fully. Within 2 days of corking I've already had 2 corks that didn't fully seat pop out of the bottle. Look in the pictures to see a Colonna Capper/Corker, and the result differences between the synthetic and natural corks with my corker.

developing consistency.
The process of having the right grape, harvest, fermentation, to produce the wine you envision, requires a consistent procedure. These corks seal well, are easy to work with and don't flake on you like cork can occasionally do at uncorking.

Good corks
These corks were hard at first to push in. I ended up placing the bottles on the floor and applying downwards pressure with my hand corker. They worked.

Wine Corks
These corks are terrible, they are hard to get in, they leaked, are hard to get out, and what was worse they ruined all my wine that I used these corks.

Synthetic Supercorks are excellent
Did not have any leakers with the Supercorks. In the past I've always had leakers when using other Synthetic corks.
Thank you. Thank you.
It feels great not to have to re-cork about half of my bottles.
