An interesting bittering hop which is making a comeback.  Comet has a blend of both grassy "Wild" aromas, and a zesty grapefruit character.  While generally used for bittering, the flavor and aroma of this hop definitely justify experimenting with late additions.

Not really a good Galaxy Substitue
We were looking for a substitute for Galaxy hops because the prices have gone through the roof. Galaxy imparts nice pineapple notes which I believe is perfect for West Coast style IPA's. Several sites suggest that Comet does the same thing. Either we didn't use enough Comet to bring the pineapple or that is a fairly incorrect flavor profile claim, because we received no pineapple notes in our IPA while utilizing Comet hops.
