I've used these strips in the past, for years in fact. They work well and have kept well on the shelf in my brewery.

It should do for now until i decide if i want to buy a meter

It's the pH strip that is most suited to what we do (process dairy) and the best price we've found.

My need is only for infrequent ph measurements, the need doesn't justify the expense and maintenance of a meter

Good value
Easy to use. First time I tried it with no problems. Same result at mash temp and room temp. Good value and straight forward.

Works for me.
If you do a internet search you will find there is a ton of information and opinions on the effectiveness of these strips. I have been using them for years and have been been happy with my end product. As stated in other reviewers posts you should adjust the reading up .3 to have a fairly accurate reading. There are other considerations. The strips have a five year shelf life if kept completely bone dry. I vacuum seal my strips between batches. They have a 1-2 year shelf life when exposed to air. The strips should be left in the wort sample for at least 1 minute and up to 10 minutes to get an accurate reading. I usually set a timer for 2 minutes.

Great Product
I have used these on two different batches. Extremely easy to use and very accurate. The last batch we had a pH meter and they came up with the exact same readings.

good investment
Good for getting into water chemistry. If you're brewing once or twice a month like me, a pH meter may not be worth the investment. This is a more than suitable option.

dont use em
I tried, but I just can't differentiate between the colours. It's alway "weeell.... it MIGHT be 5.6, or is that 5.8...?). Plus, you'll go through a lot of strips. I check pH of HLT, sparge, mash, constantly. Spend the $100 and and get the Hanna pH meter with ATC. It's worth it in my opinion.

Low-Tech, Low-Stress
pH meters are a pain to calibrate, prep, and store. These strips take away additional processes during brewday.

Research indicates they read about 0.3 pH points lower than a calibrated meter around mash pH, so take this into account.

Great Product
This is a cheaper way to check your pH than a pH meter and you don't have to worry about keeping them in the storage solution or calibrating them.

The best strips out there
I bought these after listening to a podcast with Jamil Z on the brewing network where he discussed their benefit. I've used other ph strips that are next to impossible to read. These strips, while more expensive than others, are much easier to read.
