Description
Citra® is currently one of the most sought after hops among craft and home brewers for their intense citrus aroma and flavor. Grapefruit and lime aromas along with gooseberry, passion fruit, and lychee notes. Currently one of the top choices for late hop additions or dry hopping when you want to make that ultimate hop bomb IPA or Pale Ale. Citra® also has a fairly high alpha acid content making it a good choice for bittering IPAs, Pales, and American Ales. Supply has been limited in the industry but MoreBeer! loved this hop from day one and bought a lot of it years ago on contract. 
 
Whole cone hops are typically the preffered format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. Adding whole cone hops directly to the mash tun is also a great way to add some extra hop flavor and to clarify your wort as it filters through the flowers.

BEST ANSWER: I Belive Citra Is a Patented Hop or Has a Process Similar to a trade Secret ! So Dont Expect to get Citra anytime Soon ?Unless the Growers, really are Ok With Letting the Cat out of The Bag ? Its one of the most Popular Hops! Citra is a Propietary Hop Variety from HBC , Only Licensed Growers are allowed to Produce The Hop . So, It was Released in 2008 ! It's Going to be some Tome Berfore You Can Grow it ? At home?

Great hops
I used these for the first time in an ipa. Used for an all citra recipe. I used as a mash, whirlpool and dry hop additions. The aroma and juicy taste were above and beyond my experiences with pellet hops.
