Mostly good but does not match picture/description
Despite the description and picture indicating that this package can be used to upgrade an original (1.0) version of the 7G Chronical to having heating/cooling capabilities, the neoprene sleeve that came with the package did not fit my Chronical. The holes were cut in it for the 2.0 version and they did not match the picture above. It is incompatible with the legs and clasps on my 1.0 Chronical, so cannot be used. MoreBeer customer service was unable to reconcile this with SS BrewTech so I'm left with an incomplete product.

The rest of the pieces worked as expected, but the lack of a functional neoprene sleeve for insulation reduces the effectiveness of this setup for me.
sleeve has 4 clasp holes & 4 leg holes, but the product picture indicates 6 clasp holes &3 leg holes

Fermentation Dream Come True!
I’ve been a home brewer for nearly 30. I’ve lived and brewed beer in the heat of Arizona, the cold of Wisconsin and the constantly changing temperature of Ohio. The common issue with brewing in these areas has always been the same...wort temperature during fermentation. I’ve
used every Rube Goldberg contrivance I could come up with to maintain temp. Some more effective than others but always a compromise to heat or cooling...so the question I’ve been asking myself since I purchased the temp controller for my Chronically is simple. What the heck took me SO long to make the purchase?
I set the temperature to 65 degrees and have stopped walking to the basement to check on my beer. I go back upstairs shaking my head, asking myself, why did you wait???
The FFTS has been the single most impressive/useful piece of brew equipment I have purchased in years.
My advice to those brewers on the fence about shelling out the money, it’s something that after you make the purchase you’ll ask yourself, WHY did I wait so long!

Great investment!

Excellent alternative to a fermentation fridge/cold crashing can be tough
I really like the FTSs for my chronical 7 gal. Have done a few batches on it now and it holds ale temps perfectly. I used they system with the included flat lid for the first 2 batches and it worked fine, but co2 transfers to kegs made the lid like badly, due to the flat lid being a bit flimsy. I have since moved the immersion coil to the body of the Chronical fermenter which allows me to use my stock domed lid with 1.5" TC. This configuration is much is much better and now mirrors the brew master edition of the Chronicals. I had to drill 2 17mm holes on the body of my fermenter to do this, was very easy. I used a small yeti ice chest and changed 1.5L frozen bottles for my chill source for my first 2 batches. I now use a small minifridge that has a 2 gallon water container for my chill source so that I don't have to constantly change bottles. Ale temperatures are very easy to maintain with this method, however I have attempted to cold crash and have found that this setup has it's limitations. Can get it to low 50s and mabey high 40s for a short period. I've read that a the chill source water volume should be at least equivalent to the amount of beer your chilling, so that definitely my issue. I did cold crash on my first batch using the ice chest with ice and was able to achieve 30* range, but had to add ice very often to maintain. Other than that it does what it says it does and I'm very happy with it.

Works great! I have used this with 4 brews. Holds and maintains temps. If your looking for ways to maintain fermentation temps in your SS Brewtech conical this is the way to go.
