Description

4.5-7% AA - Grows well in all climates. Aroma and bittering for pale ales.

Pleasant, floral and quite citrusy. Very distinctive and the most popular microbrew and homebrew hop for American ales.  Cascade is the great aroma hop for all American-style ales, known for its grapefruit, citrusy flavors and aromas.

Rhizomes should be planted immediately for best results. If your area is still experiencing frost then you can plant them in a planter indoors until it is safe to transplant outside. The first years crop will generally be smaller than subsequent years. Since these are live plants, we cannot guarantee they will grow, so we recommend buying two of each type to help ensure their success.

Shipping Restrictions:

Due to agricultural restrictions, we can only ship rhizomes to addresses that are in the United States, excepting Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and the counties of Bonner and Kootenai in Idaho. Unfortunately, we cannot ship these to international locations including APO/FPO addresses.

Shipping Limitation: This item does not qualify for free shipping.

The other hops I planted are growing very well. My cascade rhizome hasn’t even broken ground. Should I be concerned?
Mark Horsley on Apr 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I planted 8 rhizomes (2 sets of 4 varieties) including Cascade on 04/18/2018. I used "rot prevention" planters containing store bought soil, Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food, and Down To Earth Fish Bone Meal. 5 of the other 6 are growing vines, but Cascade is showing no signs of growth. I can't help you with why, but I can agree that my Cascade are not growing as the others are...if at all.

Cascade Rhizomes - No signs of Life
I purchased (3) Cascade rhizomes and after 5 weeks no sign of life. They were planted in well draining and conditioned soil. We have had an exceptionally mild spring in the Charlotte, NC area so weather should not have been a factor.

Live and learn
Horrible "luck" with the rhizomes I received in the mail. I ordered a grand total of 21 rhizomes (7 each of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook) and precisely followed directions in planting and tending to them, especially with regard to watering. Long story short, only 5 of the 21 rhizomes germinated. If there is a silver lining to this sorry tale, those 5 are currently flourishing but obviously a germination rate of 24% is far from acceptable.

Arrived moist and are growing great.
I planted these hops right when they arrived in mid April and I strung a twine to the eve of my 1 story house and they grew about 13 feet and now they are budding already and it’s early July!!! I highly recommend installing a drip system in for hops and using well drained soil. I live in Turlock, Ca and it’s hot as hell here. My hops are on the hottest south facing side of my house with pretty much full sun all day. I made sure to cut the shade leaves off the bottom 3 ft and I also spray them weekly with organic pest repellent. I can’t wait to brew with these. I think I might get 2 harvests off of them this year which I read online can happen. So overall I love how great these are growing and how healthy they arrived to my house from More beer! Cheers!
Little cones have been forming since late June and I planted these in mid April!!!

Great start
Ordered Columbus, cascade, and chinook. Cascade was the slow starter but ended up with 11 buds! I had to check and make sure I didn’t accidentally order 2 and bury them in the same pot. One month later it’s a birds nest of bines, the oldest with some side arms. TBD if there will be any yield growing in central Fla. but off to a promising start!
One month after shipping date
New growth - 11 sprouts!
