It doesnt really help that much with handling full carboys, and it gets in the way after you've washed it and want to use a drying rack to flip your carboy over to drain/dry. would not buy again.
I'm new to home-brewing and am a one-man show. These carboy handles work great. I haven't had any problems using them and I'm easily able to carry my carboys alone. I now have one on each of my carboys...both primary and secondary.
If you have a glass carboy of any size you need a handle to control it when cleaning or carrying your beer.If your using BPW your glass get very slippery so the handle will keep it from sliding out of your hands.I use handles on all my glass carboys and have yet to break one.
Great product. Can only be used for the larger carboys, though. Also, lift slowly when carboy is full or you may snap the top off your carboy--my fault, what a mess!!
After purchasing a Glass Carboy (6.5 Gallon) - Smooth Neck from MoreBeer, this blue handle did not fit properly. I used an Orange handle from my previous broken carboy of the same size, but a from a different manufacturer.
After breaking a glass carboy full of PBW, I bought one of these for each glass carboy I have. I can carry a carboy full of wort for group brew sessions with one of these, just have to be careful because it's still glass and don;t want to bump it on something hard. PBW is slippery, so this makes it much easier to handle while cleaning too.
