Calcium Chloride

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

Calcium chloride is usually used in place of Gypsum when sulfates are not desired. Calcium chloride will adjust your mash pH down. 1 gram in 1 gallon changes the salt levels by 72 ppm calcium, 127.5 ppm chloride and adds 180 ppm to the hardness.

This is anhydrous Calcium Chloride.

Best. Calcium. Chloride. Ever.
This completely fulfilled my expectations in terms of both calcium and chloride. Exact 1:2 ratio of Ca2+ and Cl-.

Really now. I ordered calcium chloride and agar and I keep getting asked to review!

Works as expected.
I modify my water for each batch. I need CaCl2 to balance the SO4/Cl ratio.

Beer needs Calcium Ions.
Several years ago I read that beer likes calcium ions, which are obtained from calcium chloride. I wouldn't brew without it.
