Description

Cacao Nibs are a great way to introduce rich chocolate flavor into any beer. Impress your friends with a unique tasting experience!

Cacao nibs (also referred to as cocoa nibs) are the key ingredient in chocolate. They are crushed seeds from the cacao plant.  While not technically chocolate themselves, they have a wonderful cocoa smell to them, and will provide a very subdued cocoa-like flavor to any beer.

You can use these cacao nibs like you would a dry hop, by adding the cacao nibs to your secondary fermenter or keg for a couple of weeks (4 ounces per 5 gallons is a great place to start), allowing the beer to draw out the subtle flavors and aromas of the cacao nibs. They can also be used in the boil or mash - wherever you would like to experiment with them. Adding the nibs pre-boil will impart some bitterness, so use a lot less than you would when adding them to a keg. (Recently, our friends at Stone Brewing Company made a stout using cacao nibs in the boil to actually replace some of the hops in the recipe!)

These super high quality TCHO cacao nibs go great with darker beers like porters and stouts, but could blend with any beer - perhaps a wit or a saison! TCHO is an American chocolate company in San Francisco, dedicated to producing high end chocolates.

Use it, there is a reason why The Bruery uses these specific nibs in Chocolate Rain and Mocha Wednesday. I used it in a stout I made and WOW! Smooth milk chocolate aroma and flavor

Perfect For A Chocolate Cherry Stout
I've purchased cocoa nibs from different online sources, but these seem to be the freshest I've come across. Four ounces added to secondary for 1 week seems to be the magic in adding the just right chocolate flavor in my chocolate cherry stout.

Great Chocolate Taste
I made a Chocolate Porter and used 4oz of these dry nibbled them for 2 weeks. Gave a great Chocolate taste. I would recommend them. Great product.

Subtle Chocolate Flavor
These nibs are great for adding a little chocolate flavor to my stout recipe. I've found that using the same amount along with a scraped and chopped vanilla bean dramatically increases the perceived chocolate flavor!

Mocha Stout
I used these in 2 beers recently - a chocolate oatmeal stout and a chocolate coffee stout. Great way to switch things up. Thro them into the boil for a new and unique bittering flavor (make sure to decrease your hop amount to stay in balance)

Great in Porters and Stouts
I've used these in a milk stout and coffee porter and they add fantastic flavor. I wait until fermentation is complete and then "dry hop" with them.

True flavor
Add to secondary fermentor and let it go. A little time for subtle chocolate flavor. Great in stouts and porters.
