Beats having to buy small iodine containers all the time. Less plastic waste too

Following my receipt of a slightly damaged bottle of Iodophor, MoreBeer made good on a promptly shipped, no cost replacement. It's a great product being offered by people practicing great customer service.

Excellent sanitizer.

It works. I'll be happy till I'm not.Might have been nice if the mix instructions on the bottle included weight ratios. But easy enough to figure out if you bring out a calculator.

I have used this for years. Inexpensive, non- foaming, no-rinse if mixed correctly. 2 minute contact time. Don't leave for days in plastic buckets or carboys, will stain slightly. Cheap enough to mix up 4 or 5 gallons and toss after use.

I'm not sure how caustic this stuff is or carcinogenic but I must say it works like a charm. To me, it doesn't seem that bad because I think it's iodine-based. We used to get iodine all over the place when I was a kid. We got iodine smeared on our cuts, iodine was more prevalent in our foods. But not anymore. So I don't mind using the stuff. I think I can sanitize my tanks in 2 minutes and all I have to do is pour it in. Shoot, 2 minutes goes by so fast...it usually sits in there a lot longer before I can even flush it back out. But see I'm using this to sanitize fresh water tanks and water lines in my camper. It's perfect for that. I don't Brew my own beer or anything so I've never tried it in that context. But if you love to go camping and you have a hard time with bleaching out your water lines and freshwater tank, just try this stuff. It's easy as pie.

This is a less expensive alternative to Star San. Unlike Star San, it is not a contact killer of bacteria, it needs a few minutes of contact to be effective.

Easy sanitizing, won’t leave your carboy full of foam. Check your starch conversion as well with just a drop.

Yes it smell funny, and yes it will slightly discolor vinyl tubing (although it does not stain my plastic fermentor), but this stuff kills what you want dead. I had an airlock filled with starsan that the krausen bubbled into. I pitched that starsan/krausen liquid from the airlock into an equal amount of mild table sugar water mix that I boiled, and within 12 hours this new solution was fermenting. That tells me that starsan is not a very effective yeast killing agent, and online brewing forums seem to support the idea that iodophor is more effective at killing yeasts and souring bugs like lacto and pedio, something starsan is known to struggle with.

I like Iodophor because it is so easy to use, is economical, and effective.

My preferred sanitizer. easy to use, easy to mix up some before hand and store in a airtight dark jug.

I’m a big fan of this product and have used it exclusively for years. Doesn’t require a large amount each use and you don’t need to rinse off your items after using.

Excellent cleaner and sanitizer for your brewery. Doesn’t add any off flavors if left on stainless equipment.

We use this product for beer and wine production as well as for sanitizing our Mushroom clean room. No or low odor so it's great to use in small areas. Two thumbs up for killing mold on table or wall surfaces.
