Description

The world's first fully automated all grain brewing machine just got an upgrade! Introducing the Brewie Plus - now lighter, faster and stronger. Having shaved off nearly 15 lbs, the Brewie+ is noticeably easier to move around, and an upgraded WiFi module will help the unit stay connected even while brewing in the garage or work shed. Updated heating elements bring your strike water to temp and wort to boil faster, significantly decreasing the overall brewing process time. And now with double the memory of the previous unit, the Brewie+ can be loaded up with even more of your favorite recipes!

This unit can produce up to 5 gallons of wort without any supervision. The process is simple, add the ingredients and start the recipe program. You will have chilled wort, ready to be pitched when the process is complete.  There is even a cleaning cycle you can run after you have pumped the wort into your sanitized fermenter!

Beginner and advanced brewers alike will love the simplicity of crafting and executing their own recipes using ingredients of their choice. Brewers can take full control of each batch as Brewie+ lets you set every single parameter, mashing, sparging or hopping. For future brews, call up your personalized recipe from the digital display, add your ingredients, then go have a beer and relax!  No more standing over your kettle and waiting.

Control your Brewie+ from just about anywhere!  The Brewie+ allows you to monitor and control your brew day from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop and tracks the data from every batch you brew. Manage your batches and connect with other Brewie+ owners with Brewie's Social Platform.

Also available are Brewie Pad recipe kits, an excellent choice for beginner brewers. Simply empty the ingredients into the specified locations, select the preloaded recipe from the digital display, then go have a beer and relax! Brewie Pad recipe kits use high quality and fresh ingredients making great tasting beer every time you brew.

If you have any trouble with your Brewie Plus system make sure to keep the box. Brewie has service centers here in the US and are happy to repair your system for you!

Does this require a 240V outlet or is it a standard USA 120V?
Mark Johnson on Mar 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Brewie runs on standard 120V.
Whats the average efficiency?
Dockins Lee on Jul 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve done 3 brews on it now and averaging 72%.
How long does it take to chill the wort? Can it be modified with a wort chiller or glycol chiller?
Rick Hofeld on Jul 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 1. I haven’t timed it but it seems to be about the same amount of time as it would take on my old system using a counter-flow chiller. So generally fast.

2. It uses water from the tap to cool the wort so the only modification I can think of that would make the process faster and allow you to get to a lower temperature would be having the tap water go through a heat exchanger in a bucket of ice water before it enters the Brewie.
What is the highest gravity you can pull with this thing? 17 or so pounds of grain are advertised.....anyone have any luck in that range without sacrificing efficiency?

Terrible Reliability & Buggy Software
I've had the Brewie 3 months and successfully completed three brews. On the fourth brew the machine stopped working and will no longer power on. I contacted Brewie customer support and am still waiting 10 days later without any resolution in sight.

Do yourself a favor and skip the Brewie until they've figured out their reliability problems. I thought that the Brewie Plus had these problems figured out, but if you do some research you'll see that's not really the case.

In the brews that I did complete with the Brewie it didn't really save me that much time because I had to keep an eye on the machine just like a normal brew. In one instance I had a stuck sparge and it overflowed the mash tank and I barely caught it before I had wort everywhere. In another instance the machine's software skipped a mashing step and tried to move right to mash out without doing the saccharification rest. In yet another in just a cleaning cycle the machine almost overflowed the boil tank.

I really love the idea of this machine, but the execution is quite poor.

Yup, I did it!
It took quite a while to make the decision to buy an automated brewing system. For me, a lot of the enjoyment of brewing beer is the actual brewing process and being hands on. Having started with extract kits it didnt take long for me to move up to all grain. I have brewed for some time on a home-built keggle system of my own design before moving up to the Brewie+ and I have to say using my new Brewie+ IS just as much FUN! I have not used a Brewie Pad but I did buy two all grain kits to brew to "get used to" the Brewie. Don't think that the Brewie will take the fun out of your brew days. You are still in complete control, especially if you create your own recipies outside of the Brewie Pad offerings. It did take some trial runs to become accustomed to the Brewie and it is imperative that you accurately calibrate the machine. I just completed the 3rd brew in the first week of my Brewie ownership, a German Roggenbier. The Brewie was excellent throughout the entire process, all the numbers were spot on. I had concerns about a stuck sparge having brewed a rye beer so soon but the Brewie+ pulled it off, even with NO rice hulls in the grain bed! It's fermenting now and I cant wait to get that bad boy in a keg! It's a bunch of coin up front but I can already tell it was a good investment. The Brewie+ gets a well-deserved 5 star rating from this home brewer. I highly recommend the Brewie+

Brewie needs customer sevice.
I've been watching the Brewie website for about a year and decided the next time it goes on sale I would buy it. Finally on Black Friday I made the purchase. More Beer had it delivered to me within a few days. I wanted to use the Brewie Rusty Rex pad for the first brew to familiarize myself with the equipment and use my own recipes after that. Unfortunately the Brewie pads were out of stock at More Beer so I ordered it from the Brewie website. It's been over 2 weeks and I haven't received the ingredients or even gotten a shipping notification. I've tried to contact them concerning 2 different things and haven't heard back from them. I understand they're a new company and I'm willing to be patient as they work out the problems but they've dropped the ball on this one. I'm excited to try my first batch so I'll probably brew something other than the Brewie kit. After I finish the first batch I can write a better review about the brewing equipment. Right now I can only comment on the Brewie customer service.

was totally worth the wait
I've waited 3 months to receive the unit, but ever since I received it (mid-September) I can't stop trying my recipes. Take care to always update the software to the latest one and to calibrate it - if done, no problems should occur. It's really fun, try it out if you can, much easier than my previous homemade setup.

Gamechanging tech!
I've received the unit a few weeks ago, and I gotta say, it was really worth the money and the waiting! It was really nerve-wracking though to keep positive through all the delays and issues, but ever since I got my Brewie, I'm beyond happy! Look at this beauty! I haven't used a system like this before, so here is some feedback: 1. Always check the amount of water in the recipe creator! It really helps a lot! 2. Long, loooooong mashing. I didn't quite get the importance - my first batch reached 48% brewhouse efficiency with 40 minutes of mashing on 68C, and my second reached 72% with a little agitating and 120 minutes of mashing on 3 steps! Yeyy! 3. Reach out to Brewie! They were sooo hard to reach in January but since then, they hired a few hands or other, because they are super helpful and FAST. At last!

Buy one.
I wanted to wait until I had a chance to brew a few times before reviewing this unit. Having brewed on it three times now I can safely say that, so far, the Brewie Plus is amazing. It works exactly as advertised. Just enter the details of whatever you are brewing (I use my own recipes not the brewie pads), set the mash, sparse, boil, and hop parameters and then press brew. I will still frequently check up on it to make sure everything is going as it should but the automation makes the brew day much more relaxed. If you’re a busy person like me who generally can’t afford to spend 5+ hours of undivided attention to your brew day, the Brewie Plus is for you. I’m excited for the level of beer experimentation this system will allow me. And if all of that wasn’t enough, it’s damn good looking too. I know this company had some issues with gen 1 of the Brewie but it would appear that they have addressed any such problems with the Brewie Plus. I cannot say enough good things about this system and if I could give a higher than 5 star review I would. Seriously, buy one.

Happy with this purchase
I received the B20+ on a Tuesday and had brewed 2 beers by Friday. I tried winging it on the mash and sparge and got pretty poor efficiency(48%) on the first beer and reached out to MoreBeer! and the got back to me right away with suggestions and pointers for increasing my efficiency, I also reached out to Brewie through facebook messenger and they also responded very quickly and got back to me with excellent pointers as well. I would say that I am super happy with customer service so far, the only thing this unit is lacking is a high level kill for the pumps, using 15.25 lbs of various barley malts I got a "stuck sparge" it was pumping in faster than it was pumping out, this led to a few liters of wort spilling over the sides of the unit, before I was able to jostle the grain bag enough to get the wort flowing through the grain bed again. Regardless of what type of grains are used I will now always use rice hulls.
Even with that issue I still love this thing and recommend it, it is so awesome having a busy life with kids to be able to start a brew day on a whim and spend only 15 mins of active time.
