Instead of trying to mate this BSP fitting to a NPT fitting, shouldn't we just get the H853, which is actually NPT? Then a regular DUO106 should screw right on the male flare from the H853? I'm suspicious of trying to use a BSP male in an NPT female.
is this the same thread used where the low pressure gas out hose barb is found on the taprite 3750 series dual gauge regulator? looking to swap out hose + clamp to duotight fittings
Anyone have any luck converting the barb gas outs to 1/4 flare on the Elite Series Four Product Secondary Regulator with this adaptor? If converted, then would work perfectly with a duotight DUO106
Duotight Push-In Fitting - 8 mm (5/16 in.) x 1/4 in. Flare
BEST ANSWER:I made the change over one year ago and everything has worked great. Make sure you also replace the existing plastic gas line with new duotight plastic gas line. In my case, I added duotight fittings and plastic lines for both the gas in and beer out.
Thank you. I'm setting up a new keezer so bought 4 mm ID x 8 mm OD EVA tubing D1717C for everything. Trying to find the right duotight connects for the regulators is tricky.... the threads are sometimes NPT, sometimes BSP, and lots of vendors don't tell you the specs. Did you have luck using duotight into the gas-in side of your manifold (if you have one)? Mine... the threads are reversed! So this MPT to flare fitting won't work there.
I used duotight fittings and tubing on a kegerator. The gas line setup has a regulator with a Y fitting splitter and shut off check valves on each outlet. One end of the duotight tubing fits over the check valve outlet barb and the opposite end fits onto the ball lock disconnect using a duotight 1/4” push in fitting. More Beer has a great selection of brass fittings and duotight options. Good luck with your keezer.

Used this with DUO106 to replace 1/4" barbed fitting on Taprite regulator. Remove barbed fitting, then Taprite>H853>DUO106. Used a little Teflon tape on H853 and scavenged o-ring from barbed fitting. Had to tighten down to o-ring for a good seal.
Use this to upgrade your old connections to duotight
Recently upgraded my entire set up to duotight fittings. I used this adaptor to upgrade my old distributors and regulators. Small investment to extend the life of existing gear for duotight./eva tube
