Better Bottle is a name known in the home beer and winemaking for their quality products.  Plastic PET carboy fermenters are much safer than glass carboys; not only because they weigh less, but they will also not explode into shrapnel if dropped!  These are made from Virgin PET and manufactured in such a way that the molecules are tightly packed, and less susceptible to oxygen transfer, resulting in better wine and beer!

Aside from it's advantages over glass carboy fermentors, the Better Bottle is relatively impermeable to oxygen.  This means that if your wine or beer is destined for aging, this is vessel is a perfect choice!  When using the Better Bottle and it's accessories, the transfer rate of oxygen is lower than that suggested for Micro-oxygenation, and insignificant when compared to the amount of oxygen transferred through other bottles and their stoppers.

So much lighter than glass
I used to use buckets and glass carboys but have completely switched over to the plastic better bottles (6 gal). I recently had a brew day and was getting ready when I realized I already had my 2 better bottles full of 2 lagers I had made a few weeks back.

I did not remember how heavy a glass carboy was full until I had to work with it that day. I could have used a bucket but I enjoy seeing the progress of the fermentation through a clear carboy. I got online and ordered 2 more plastic better bottles as soon as my day was finished. Don't want to get caught like that again.

Love it!
Love it! Much easier to handle and clean. I also like the bump in the bottom which helps when transferring the prize and not the sediment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, great product and great customer service from Morebeer!

Highly recommended!
I love my better bottle csrboys. First one lasted through 30 batches before I somehow managed to crack the base of the bottle. I have used glass carboys as well, the better bottle is MUCH easier to handle and I like the slightly bigger opening versus my glass carboys.

good carboy option
Works well and is very light. As has been mentioned, lifting it can suck back through airlock in to fermenter.

Good size for more wort
I liked the 5 gallon version as well. The 6 works nice when you have more wort (little over 5 gallons) when transferring over to the secondary.
