Can this be used to extend the mash volume as well?
Du Tran on Feb 27, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Actually, if you get the extended Malt pipe as well you can increase you mash volume as well. I recently mash 42lbs of grain in the extended malt pipe for the 65L brewzilla. The mash volume was about 20 gallons and the boil was about 16 gallons. I probably could have mashed closer to 46 to 48 lbs of grain in the extended malt pipe and boiler extension kit. The issue you might face is will 3500 watts be enough to boil vigorously the larger volume of wort.

Great gear for larger brews!
Actually, I used two of these on a recent brew of a Russian Imperial Stout for a Bourbon Barrel. See my extended malt pipe review for more information. With two of these, I had the retaining "clip" in the bottom extension to hold the mash, and a second in case I needed it for the boil. As it turned out I didn't really need the second one so I took it off for the boil. The boil was almost to the top of the 17.1 gallon brewzilla, good thing I had the extension, and not a problem to get that volume up to a good boil in a reasonable amount of time.

I have not used this product yet. I really wish I could have ordered extra gaskets when I ordered.
