Looks interesting. Will use to rack into fermenter and then use as blow off for a closed fill and secure blow off

The measurements match up with my FastFerment fermenters, my last brew filled the airlocks with foam. Flexible tubing is a pain to work with and clean.

What size stainless blow off tube is recommended for use with the thermowell/hood (FE625)?
Sean Kinnas on Apr 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Item FE625 is recommended to be used with a standard airlock or 1/2 inch blow off tubing. So something around that size.

I just bought 2 stainless steel blow off tubes. I wonder how these have to be cleaned after use. Any recommendation?
FRANCISCO ANDRADE on Jan 12, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I have used these often and clean them after each use. First I rinse by flushing with hot water, then I wash using Brewery Wash using Brush (CE45 Beer Line Cleaning Brush - 1/4 in. x 36 in.) Then power flush, and then spray inside with Star San an let dry.

This fits in a standard stopper?
Dimensions as advertised but isn't snug in any of my standard stoppers purchased from Morebeer. Copy should read place one end in standard carboy hood instead of stopper? It's OK if it slides a little? IDK. Will have to find a hack per Jason Schafer's review below. I guess spring for the 1/2" version if you want a snug fit in a standard stopper.

love this product
I used to use long PVC tubing, but those were a mess to clean and took up lots of space where I stored my carboys. These take up minimal space, are easy to clean, and eliminate the risk of blow off. I only wish I had bought these sooner.

Better than an air lock in many cases.
My airlock clogged and blew up again. I didn’t even brew a big beer. My solution was this item. Plop the short end into your bung and the long end into a pitcher filled halfway with sanitizer. Easy peasy. Compact yet enough room to wrap insulation around my glass carboy. I don’t even need to use the keg lube to seal it.

Perfect with a minor modification
My last IPA filled the airlocks with foam so I ordered four of these. With a normal grommet the 3/8 steel tube doesn't make a tight fit. I added 1 3/4" of 7/16 clear blow off tube to the top of the steel tube and that did the trick. It will still be much easier to clean than using all flexible blowoff tubing. I'll use these on my next double batch of belgian wit...

A bubble making beer saving machine
Got this to help with some massive foaming from D-IPA, it works amazing and the amount of bubbles and sludge it produces almost makes it own beer in the bottle I use for overflow.

Much better than plastic blow off tubes
I started to use this after adding Servomyces to my wort which resulted in a lot more yeast activity that clogged up my airlocks. Stainless steel is easy to clean and much better than blow of tubes.
