Take the guesswork out of brewing with this home brew BeerSmith software! Includes a sortable recipe database, beer style guidelines, populated ingredient database and dozens of brewing tools.

BeerSmith2 is an essential tool for any brewer that is interested in creating their own recipes.  The integration of recipe formulation, preparing proper yeast starters, calculating out mash cycles, and setting up proper fermentation temperature control schedules is truly a work of art. Plus, it's easy to print out recipes too! You can add new malts, hops, yeast and more to your inventory. Every homebrewer should have this!

BeerSmith2 is suitable for the beginner, intermediate or advanced brewer including tools for extract, partial mash and all grain brewers. Incredibly easy to use with unlimited undo, simple web-like navigation, a preview pane and a no-nag interface. Includes over dozen standalone tools in addition to recipe analysis that is fully integrated with the recipe system. Equipment databases let you set up your equipment once and use it multiple times. Create a shopping list directly from any recipe. Mash profiles for the advanced brewer make changing your mash schedule a snap. BeerSmith will even build a step-by-step list of instructions directly from your recipe.

BeerSmith defaults to the Tinseth formula when calculating IBU's. All of our Ingredient Kits use the Tinseth formula instead of the Rager, which is used by ProMash (though you can change this calculation in the settings). One is not more accurate than the other, that is just what we use in house. Please keep this in mind when inputting any ProMash recipes into BeerSmith, and make sure to adjust the bitterness calculation setting first.

Didn't care for it at all. Felt I was misled. Bought the disk not knowing I had to buy the key. Do not have internet service on my laptop. Total waste of money.

If commercial breweries have it, why don't you?
I love the BeerSmith2 brewing software. I am a BJCP Certified Beer Judge and also an award winning brewer. The reason why I use BeerSmith is because I absolutely love brewing beer that friends and family love to drink. I would not be able to do what I do without BeerSmith2. To be able to personalize all aspects of the brewing process, makes this software so valuable. It's amazing to me how much (or how little) the cost of the software is for the results achieved.
i would highly recommend this gem if you are serious about brewing! If you are showing your beers in competition, THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE.

PROST, my friends!

Smart way to brew
There is a bit of a learning curve. It is a very easy way to keep
track of your brew day. Archiving your brews is a great feature.
Makes you a better brewer as you are going to asked to fill in fields that maybe you never thought about before.

Worth the money
Well worth the price, easy to use, loads of available recipes, fully configureable. You'll wonder how you brewed without it!

All I need and then some.
I wanted this to put together recipes. After I started with that, I found that it could help me keep records of my batches. Then I found it can help me with my inventory. I keep finding that there are things already built in that can help more.

For years I used an excel sheet of my own, this was well worth the expense.

great documentation tool
Great way to document what you did, to plan what you will do, and to perform calculations for batch scaling, pricing, planning mash schedules, etc. I prefer using paper printouts during the actual brew session amidst the chaos but go back to beersmith afterwards to record.

You won't regret it
Great software, easy to get used to. Very accurate once you dial in your particular system equipment vitals (volume, mass, deadspace, etc). My only complaint is that it never gets the color right (always comes out a few SRM darker).

Great app for brewing...
I don't use nearly all the features that it comes with, but the features I do use makes it an invaluable tool to my brew sessions.
