Install a tap where you want it, without the hassle of searching for all the separate components you’ll need. This faucet, knob, and shank combo is a great price, it’s easy to install, and it works and looks great!
This kit includes the 4" shank with 3/16" nipple, chrome faucet with stainless lever, and plastic 2.5" knob.
Cheaper rout to go for taps and does a good job for a limited time. Once it sits a day it clogs up and you have to really pull on it to get it going again. I got into the habit of spraying it down with some Starsan before and after use this helps but gets tedious.
These faucet/ shank combos are a great deal. I have had no problems like other people have mentioned. I run PBW followed by StarSan through them between each keg, and pull them apart to scrub down every other keg. Get yourself a brush and faucet wrench.
This combo is easy and the perfect size for the collar on your keezer. The tap faucets, though, are crap quality. The design probably wasn't thought through that well since they get stuck from beer coming into contact with the movable part in the front.
If you don't pour a beer for any more than 24 hours, the next time you pour one you will have to pull the handle back and forth a few times just to release it from being stuck with sticky leftover beer.
I have 2 of these in my kegerator. Easy to install. The hardest part was pushing the tubing onto the barb. As mentioned above it does get gummed up if you don't use often. My workaround is to keep a squirt bottle handy with sanitizer solution and squirt onto metal piston on the front of the faucet. Lubricates and Cleans. The better solution is to just keep drinking more beer ;-)
This item was a good low cost option to get my Kegerator up and running. But if you don't pull at least 1 beer through it each day, it will get 'thick' and 'stick' closed and with 4 of these on my Kegerator..... I made more sense to upgrade to the Perlick, would have saved me money in the long run. Shank Long enough to get through most refrigerator doors. I'm still using the 4 shanks !
