Do you need a special capper for these bottles?
Walter L.Doughty on Oct 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the best way to insert the corks is with the Colonna corker, it allows you to insert the cork halfway, then remove the bottom plate and fully expel the cork from the corker.

Great Bottles, even better on sale
These are your classic Belgian style bottles. Thick glass, high quality. I use them when I want to bottle something special and give them as gifts. At the sale price of $19.99, they are the best deal (even when paying shipping) I could find either online or in stores.

Good bottles
The bottles are exactly what I expected. They're nice, thick heavy bottles that can take high pressure. So far, I've bottled a tripel at about 4 volumes of CO2 and they performed nicely. I'm sure these bottles will last a long time.

Good, sturdy bottles
Great for bottling beer that you want highly carbonated and/or that you want to age. I've also used these to bottle mead that didn't seem to be completely attenuated after months and months in the carboy, and I got a nice sparkling mead out of it. Also used it to bottle biere de garde, saison, barleywine, and belgian strong ale.

I never like buying empty bottles, but these are just too handy. Only problem I could see from these is that they take special corks and they might need a floor corker that some people might not want to pay for.

Heavy Duty
These are great bottles. Heavy duty, solid feel. I love them for Belgians and my Brett beers. I've ordered a number of glass products from MoreBeer and no issues yet. Always as advertised and always well-packaged.

Good quality, thick walled
These bottles are thick walled and made well. I have been using these for several years when I bottle big Belgians. Although I wouldn't recommend dropping them, I have dropped a couple and they didn't break. They are a bit heavier, but these bottles will last through many brews.
