Is this mill a 2 or 3 roller?
Al on Jun 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 2 roller. One roller free spins, the other is driven by the supplied handle, or you can connect a drill. Been working very well for me for a few years.

BEST ANSWER: 0.375 inch
Can you store it in a 5 or 6 gallon bucket when not being used?
Thomas Brown on Mar 26, 2023
BEST ANSWER: If you're using a standard 5 or 6 gallon bucket, I would say no. In fact, many people put the mill on top of a plastic brew bucket and use that to catch the grains they're milling, the mill fits on top and the base is plenty ample to be relatively sturdy (i.e. it's bigger than the opening). I tried putting it in with the hopper side down, it also did not fit. FWIW I keep mine in the original shipping box.

great mill right out of the box
after 30+ years and 150+ batches, the shaft on my corona mill finally wore out. this one fits perfectly on a 5 gallon bucket and the factory setting is just right. hooked a drill up to it and it ground 25lbs the first time out better than my corona ever did. this is fairly sturdy and the hopper is a good size. if you sit the mill on top of a 5 gal bucket with the feet inside the bucket, it will balance ok even empty and with a 1/2" milwaukee hammer drill hanging off of it. this mill made quick work of the 25 lbs. it is a bit expensive for what it is, but if you are going to be doing a lot of all grain batches, it is a good investment.

Nice for buying grains in bulk
If you buy online or from a brewing store you can get your grains pre crushed. Some like to buy 50lbs bags to get at a discount and grind their own at home.

The crushed seemed perfect. This is my first batch with this crusher will need to sample the results before I can fully endorse it.

Great Mill
Easy to adjust and once adjusted mills the grain without clogging very quickly. A definite improvement from the preset mills at the local home brew shops.

Mill Great—Hopper Too Thin
Works great. Four stars because sides of hopper are so thin.

Works, but not well made.
This mill does its job, and actually with decent speed if using a drill, but its build quality is so low I’m not sure how long it’s going to continue doing so. It does have a gap spacing adjustment, but it’s very rough. The cheapest parts are the platform which is MDF (which came chipped and cracked) and the hopper, which is SUPER thin cheap sheet metal.

In the end, it still gets 3 stars because my mash efficiency went up compared to buying pre-milled grain.

check the gap with a feeler gauge
After running about 30 batches through it, I was getting a few stuck mashes lately. I got some feeler gauges and found that it was way off on one side compared to what is inscribed on the side of the unit. Once I got that dialed in, the mash was perfect.

Otherwise has been working fine for me, I built up a little table for it and mounted an old drill to drive it. Running a 0.045" gap with my SS Brewtech mash tun herms setup.

Great mill
Easy to adjust the rollers to get the right amount of crush but didn’t come with instructions. Good thing for YouTube. I should have bought a mill a long time ago. Much better than the local brew shop

Works great!
I've only used it twice, but it works great! I have noticed some rusting on the rollers so I need to figure out what to do about that. I was storing this in my garage shop, but it is inside now. Totally my fault. I live in Louisiana so we have 90% humidity pretty much every day...
