This cast iron wide-profile banjo burner is strong and efficient, topping our ratings in getting wort to a quick boil, while using the same amount or less of propane. Adjusted for efficiency this banjo burner produces around 70,000 BTU/hr, and in full, this banjo burner mode produces 100,000 btu.

Banjo burners can often times have issues when using with low flame output.  We sourced and tested a number of different units, before settling on this one, which performs great at low output.

  • Uses 3/8" male flare fitting (included).
  • Comes with steel orifice plate for regulating airflow
  • The burner has a 9 7/8" diameter and is 14 3/4" long

This banjo burner requires a propane regulator to function properly.  We recommend a Wind Guard with these units if brewing outdoors.  If using indoors, you must have proper ventilation in the form of an overhead cooking hood.

Does this come with hardware to mount it?
Trevor Pratt on Mar 18, 2021
BEST ANSWER: No, only the screws that fit the 5 bracket holes.
Great burner though. I just bent some 3/16 x 1” and drilled holes. You can make it work if you really want to. I did and I’m really happy with it.
can I use this burner with natural gas?
robert stakem on Feb 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You can but you first need to install a conversion kit that changes the size of the orifice.
Will this fit my blichmann burner, the model before the Hell Fire came out? It looks the same.
Thomas Seitz on Jun 2, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This is the same burner with the same dimensions as the original Blichmann burner. You should have no problem replacing your current burner with this piece.
Can I use this burner with my existing 18 PSI regulator, and does anyone know how close to the bottom of the pot to mount it?
Charles Webster on Feb 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Charles - This works with standard propane regulators. In concern to mounting, we have these approximately 2.5" below the kettle on our Brew Sculptures. This allows for plenty of combustible air and efficient flame contact.

Well built
Built like a tank heavy. Nice wide, even distribution of the flame. I think it will use less gas, and give me the results I want.

I swapped out a set of jet burners for these because while the jets produce a lot of heat they roar like an F-16 when I had two going at the same time. Couldn't even have a conversation or listen to some music when I brewed. These, on the other hand, are so quiet I need to look to even see if they're on! Almost silent and close enough to the output as the jets for my 1/2 Bbl brewery that it doesn't matter. Absolutely love these.

Dragon and kitten all in one beast
I really like this burner. It burns cleanly all the way from a gentle simmer to full blast, doesn't leave any soot deposits on my brew pot. It brought my fifteen gallon all-grain mash to temp perfectly, running at about half throttle.
