Do these disassemble like plastic ones, or do you just soak them in cleaner?

Ball Lock Quick Disconnect (QD) Gas In (Stainless) - Flared
Ball Lock Quick Disconnect (QD) Gas In (Stainless) - Flared
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are disassembled like the plastic ones, the knurled areas are for grasping with a pliers or such. Poppets and gaskets can be removed and soaked/cleaned.
Can this be safely boiled?
Adam Johnson on Dec 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I can't directly answer that, but I'm curious why you would want to do that? If anything, maybe don't hit boil, but raise to 180?

I love this these, I just run them through normal three step cleaning like any other equipment.
What is the difference between gas in and beverage put. They both look the same. Are there different components inside the quick disconnect?
David Flores on Jan 26, 2024
BEST ANSWER: Same internals. They fit slightly different. Not enough to keep it from installing onto ball lock post, but enough to make removal very difficult. That is why non metal ones may be a better choice due to color difference. I use the stainless for transfer of beer and purging starsan to eliminate O2 from kegs, as they dont mind the 10 minute steam dissinfecting

So far, so good
After several plastic QD's cracked and leaked over the years, I thought I'd give these a try. They slip on and off easily.

Great Product that will last
well made, durable, and does the trick. Can be tricky to place on posts, but get some keg lube and you are golden.

The Best Disconnects in my opinion!
The Best Disconnects in my opinion! I have about 20 of the standard gray and black plastic disconnects and after 2 - 5 gallon kegs emptying into the keezer and 3 - 10 gallon CO2 tanks emptying overnight over the past few years, I had it and bought these and will never look back as I already had a 2 sets and they never have issues.

Not 100% stainless
I bought this to use in a closed transfer loop from my brewbucket to keg out. After cleaning it I threw it into a bucket of starsan to soak. The next morning I pulled it out and the bottom ring had tarnished and turned black in spots. The part that tarnished doesn't touch beer but for the price I expected more. Other than the cheap material used for the bottom it feels solid and well built

TROUBLE
I give one a 5 rating the other a 1 rating because it leaked and after trials I gave and it is in a drawer and not on a keg.

Solid, but sticky
These are obviously solid units. However, mine gum up with drippage all the time. I am always needing to use a pair of vice grips to break the seal on them when swapping kegs. This never happened with my plastic QDs.

Very Happy
I was having a problem with the plastic disconnects sticking and making it difficult to move from keg to keg. This well made stainless steel version corrected the issue.

Great Product
I bought these after using the stainless steel QD's on my hoses. I liked the way the QD's performed and how they looked so I decided to replace the cheesy plastic ball locks with
these beautiful stainless steel ball locks. A little pricey, but well worth the upgrade. They look fantastic, are easy to clean, and the positive comments from your buddies are a bonus.
