Watched some videos and looks like an inexpensive way to dial in wine primary ferm temp.
Cliff J on Aug 23, 2022
I chose this because I don't have the room for a chest freezer to help me successfully temp control at a steady temperature for lower temp fermentation requirements and after watching a few really good reviews on the low and consistent temps this can provide, I found that this was the best option for me personally.

Can you crash cool with this for a lager or Pilsner?
Joshua Hamilton on Dec 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you are using an ice water or colder reservoir you will be able to crash down to near freezing temperatures for lagering. It will take a lot of monitoring to make sure your cooling reservoir stays cold enough to maintain that temperature for more than a few days.
WIll this work with the 7 gallon Fermonster?
Rell Ambrose on Nov 17, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The bung or stopper is not the same size as the Fermonster #10 stopper, the Anvil Cooling System comes with a #7 stopper with 4-holes in it and that will be your issue with this system out of the box. If you’re not opposed to some diy drilling into a #10 stopper, the main items will work with your fermentation vessel and almost any other fermenter. Hope this helps your decision on buying it, it works great in my opinion.
Is there any way to transfer beer wort from keg to keg w/o using CO2?
BEST ANSWER: Yes! You can create a siphon and use gravity to transfer the beer. The exact steps are:

1. Lift Keg 1 onto a table or counter top. Leave Keg 2 on the floor.
2. On Keg 1 open the pressure relief valve and keep it open.
3. Attach beer line to Keg 1.
4. Attach beer line to Keg 2.
5. Open the pressure relief valve on Keg 2 and keep it open.

The beer should start flowing pretty easily, but you can always start it manually or with some sort of vacuum.

Decent considering the low price but…
I’m not sure if there’s a way they could have designed this differently because a bung is only so big but due to the shape of the cooling parts and the hole configuration punched into the stopper you are limited to s-type air locks or a blowoff tube only. 3-piece air locks (which are my preferred kind) don’t fit this very well unfortunately. Aside from that it’s really a decent deal for the price which saves you a bit of hunting and pecking for DIY piecemeal solutions which would do the same exact job but of course require more work and planning. So there’s the trade off. Worth it in my opinion.

Works like a charm
Worked as advertised. I used it with a Sous vide to maintain high temp and it worked like a charm. Haven’t tried using it for cooling yet,

Simple and effective
Great little cooling system. I have a small apartment and set up, so this solved the problem of not having room for another dorm fridge for fermentation. I have the pump and cold water in a dorm fridge that also contains my 3gallon keg. So I have a tangle of tubes coming from my little fridge to the fermenter, but it does a very good job of keeping the temperature constant.
